Luis is an energetic, super social 2 year old, 39 lb. dog who came to us as a stray. We noticed right away that Luis didn’t seem to need much time to adjust—this outgoing pup made friends on his very first day! We’re not sure why, but Luis’ big heart and joyous personality hasn’t helped him find his forever home. After a month in the shelter, he is at high risk of behavioral decline and kennel stress and urgently needs to leave the shelter with an adopter or rescue partner who can provide him with lots of exercise, attention and all the love and fun he deserves! Luis contracted an upper respiratory infection during his stay in the shelter, but has been taking his medication and is out of isolation. Otherwise, he appears to be a healthy dog at this time with the possible exception of his ability to sniff out and enjoy a remarkable, slightly unnerving, number of hot dogs. Luis has had a good dog meet in the shelter and may enjoy a canine companion to burn off some energy. While he is a good-natured and friendly dog, at this time he would do best in a home without young children given his puppy-like and exuberant behaviors and one observed instance of possible guarding over toys. 2 years old - good with dogs , older kids and not sure about cats. Cleo is a 2 1/2 year old "XL-Bully" recently surrendered to the shelter. Cleo is a fun, affectionate girl that knows several commands- beauty AND brains! Cleo can sometimes be unsure at first meeting new people, but comes around quickly. She is extremely strong on a leash and will require continued training to work with that. We are seeking a dog-experienced home, especially with large breeds. Due to her size and strength we are recommending kids 12+ in the family. Kopi is a smart and loyal dog but also very protective of one of the owners to a point that she started to go after our other older sharpei. She just turned 5 years old. She is house trained and listens to some basic commands. Need experienced adopter who understands Sharpei traits and no other dog household. She watches TV with us and is a couch potato. Loves her walks daily and her chew toys. She does not have any of the typical Sharpei skin, eyes, health, etc. issues and only need her bathe once every couple months. She is an indoor dog but she also likes exploring our fenced in backyard daily. She will not be suitable to be in any big and busy city environment as she does not like crowds and traffic noises.
