Remy Bark looks and sounds a lot like a little piglet, but she is actually a dog (we had a vet confirm)! Once upon a time she was a stray at the NYC shelter, but those days are long behind her. Today she is snorting her way through life in her foster home on Long Island. Remy is a squat little meatball, and in addition to her ridiculously cute looks, she is a bit of a foode. She recently ate a whole slice of watermelon in one, giant, adorable, jowly bite! While she loves to waddle around, Remy is brachycephalic and will need a home that can keep her cool in the warmer months, and we are happy to talk more about how to do this! Remy is doing great in her foster home and would thrive in a home that uses or is eager to learn about positive reinforcement training. This 4-year-old, 48 lb chunk of personality is friendly, social, and absolutely devoted to his people. His signature move? Plopping his clunky blockhead right into your lap for maximum cuddle impact. Mayor loves balls of all sizes—truly, the bigger the better—and he plays fetch like it’s his full-time job. He has great recall, listens well, and knows his commands. He’s a smart, willing little tank who tries so hard to please. He also does best when he takes his daily Prozac, so we’re looking for an adopter who’s comfortable continuing his medication. It makes a world of difference for him. After being scared and overwhelmed in an overcrowded shelter, Mayor needs an experienced, bulldog-savvy foster or adopter who can give him a calm, quiet home. He should be the only pet, and we think he may shine brightest in a one-person household where he can really bond and feel secure. Mayor has an adorable smile that could light up the whole block, and has so much love to give. Meet Bubba Charlie, whose head is as big as his heart. To know anything about Bubba you just have to know how he was found. The kind soul that saved him from homelessness shared this: “This adorable creature arrived on my porch in a rainstorm and never wanted to leave. He was wonderful and easy going and friendly to neighbors and dogs, I could not say no. I wanted to keep him because he is so special but unfortunately my landlord will not allow me to. I didn't want to bring him to the animal shelter where he might be destroyed, so I am personally paying to board him. He truly needs a home and he is SUCH a good boy. He will be someone’s absolute BEST friend and will adore whoever saves him from this life.” Bubba is some form of a bulldog / bully breed. He is quite young, we estimate he is 1-2 years old. He is good with dogs, kids, cats and loves every human he meets. He is a large lovebug, weighing in at 74 lbs. He is housebroken, and crate trained. He will need a little help on the leash but overall is very well behaved. He will occasionally try to chase a squirrel or two while on leash but is overall unreactive on lead, he is just playful and curious about those small moving, fast critters. Bubba is WONDERFUL with little dogs - they can jump all over him and give him lots of attention and grief and he is non-reactive. The only time we have seen Bubba take issue with other dogs is large dogs behind fences that are barking at him or if an another large dog shows HIM aggression first. All fees listed include transport fees.** In an unfair turn of events, Trudy found herself in need of rescue when she was surrendered by a breeder. She is good with other dogs, however she is possessive of food and toys around other dogs. So, we feel she would do best in a home by herself. Trudy does fine on walk with other dogs and hanging out with them as long as there is no toys or food involved. She loves hanging out with people and she is good with kids. Trudy truly loves to explore and is always up for an adventure, so if you're looking for an energetic and fun-loving dog, then she is the one for you. Trudy deserves a new leash on life and can't wait to start the next leg of her journey with you! The vet said she is around 3 years old, but we think she might be older. Story

Duke is a big, goofy guy who just wants to be loved. He loves to run and play, but also loves getting hugs and belly rubs. He can't wait for a family of his own. Duke is generally a healthy boy, but like most bulldogs he does have allergies. Anti-allergy medicine and eye drops have controlled most of the symptoms, but he will need continuous care to control the allergies throughout his life. Due is otherwise strong and healthy. His adoption includes his neuter and cherry-eye surgery; his full series of DHLPPi (distemper), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm and tick-bourne disease testing; heartworm and flea and tick preventive; microchip; and 30 days of free pet insurance. Duke is a friendly boy and loves people! He can sometimes be a little bit too enthusiastic and doesn't always know his own size - when he's happy to see you, he will greet you like a 70lb wrecking ball! But he is also kind and gentle, and enjoys cuddling and being pet. He is wonderful for his eye medication and great about having his facial folds cleaned and feet handled. He has been good with other dogs, but introductions must be made and a case-by-case decision for any household with another dog. He has also been good with cats, but again, doesn't know his own size and can be too enthusiastic in his greetings, so only a very dog-savy cat would be appropriate. Because Duke can be so enthusiastic, he is not a good fit for a household with young children, but he would be fine with teens and older. Duke is housetrained and crate-trained, but is scared of walking on a leash, and often freezes in place and refuses to move. He is working on his leash skills, but he does require a home with a fenced-in yard, both as an outlet for his energy and until he perfects his leash skills.
