Story
🧽 Meet Loofah 🧽 The only Loofah you'll ever want on your couch instead of your shower. If you've ever looked at a shower loofah and thought, "I wish this was a 40-pound English Bulldog with an underbite, tiny vampire teeth, and an obsession with kisses," then congratulations...your oddly specific dream has come true. Meet Loofah, a 2-year-old female English Bulldog whose previous life wasn't exactly full of bubble baths and self-care. Bred for her stunning lilac tricolor merle coat, she was valued for her appearance—not for her health, comfort, or happiness. Thankfully, those days are behind her, and this sweet little scrub sponge has officially entered her spa girl era. Since joining rescue, Loofah has enjoyed the ultimate makeover. She's been spayed, had surgery to widen her nostrils so she can finally breathe comfortably, and had both of her painful cherry eyes repaired. Unfortunately, because they went untreated for so long, she developed chronic dry eye in both eyes and will need lifelong eye drops and ointment to keep them healthy. Think of it as part of her daily skincare routine—and if you're adopting a dog named Loofah, skincare should already be your thing. She's also fully vaccinated, microchipped, current on monthly preventatives, 4DX negative, has a negative fecal, and perfectly normal bloodwork. She's healthy, ready, and more than prepared to begin the life she's always deserved. Now...let's talk about the real reason everyone falls in love with her. Like many former mill dogs, Loofah is a little timid when she first meets new people. Unfamiliar noises, quick movements, and random household objects sometimes make her wonder if she's accidentally wandered into a haunted house. She's also not entirely convinced that leashes aren't part of some elaborate conspiracy, so heading outside occasionally requires gentle encouragement—or, on particularly suspicious days, first-class chauffeur service straight to the yard. But once Loofah realizes she's safe? Oh, this little sponge absolutely soaks up love. She melts into the couch beside you, gently rests her head against your leg, hands out the sweetest little kisses, and has developed an adorable habit of nibbling your toes just to remind you she loves you. She has mastered the art of the bulldog cuddle and firmly believes naps should be considered an Olympic event. One of the most impressive things about Loofah is that she's already wonderfully crate trained and housebroken—a huge accomplishment considering the life she came from. Of course, moving into a brand-new home is a big adjustment for any dog, especially one who's never truly had a family of her own. Her future family should expect a few temporary setbacks while she learns a new routine, new people, and a new environment. With patience, consistency, and lots of reassurance, she settles in beautifully and continues gaining confidence every day. The absolute key to Loofah's happiness, though, is other dogs. She absolutely LOVES them. Watching Loofah with a confident, playful dog is like watching someone turn the lights on. Her confidence blossoms, her goofy personality shines through, and suddenly the shy little girl is zooming around the yard, wrestling with her friends, and discovering that life is actually pretty wonderful. Because of that, a confident, playful resident dog is non-negotiable for Loofah. She truly relies on another dog to help her navigate the world, and we'd love to see her continue growing with a canine role model by her side. Because she's still easily startled, Loofah is looking for: 🧽 A home with another friendly, confident dog. 🧽 A securely fenced yard while she continues learning that leashes aren't actually out to get her. 🧽 No young children, as sudden noises and fast movements can be overwhelming. 🧽 A patient family committed to helping her build confidence through kindness, consistency, and encouragement. We believe she'd most likely do well with cats, and we're happy to complete a formal cat test for any approved adopter with feline family members. At just 40 pounds, Loofah is one of the tiniest English Bulldogs you'll ever meet—but don't let her size fool you. She has a heart that's growing bigger every single day. She's looking for someone who won't mind a couple of daily eye drops, who understands that healing isn't always instant, who appreciates a bulldog sporting a delightfully ridiculous underbite complete with tiny vampire teeth, and who knows that sometimes the most beautiful souls simply need a little extra soaking before they shine. Loofah is currently being fostered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Approved adopters should be prepared to travel to the Harrisburg area for a meet-and-greet. So...are you ready to add a little Loofah to your daily routine? Because unlike the one hanging in your shower, this Loofah promises to make every day a little softer, a little sillier, and a whole lot sweeter. 🛁💕🐾 www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel License 9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Story
CODY is a three year-old English bulldog with spina bifida. This is most likely a result of inbreeding which unscrupulous breeders do to obtain unusual colors or a shortened stature. We obtained Cody when his owners felt that euthanasia was their only option. He is not mobility challenged in anyway, but he lacks tone on his tushy and does not have complete control over his poops. He will also dribble urine but has the ability to release his bladder outside. A strict schedule, good diet and a male wrap take care of 99% of his oopsies. Cody is a sweetheart! He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home and he loves to run! He's pretty athletic for an English Bulldog and, as long as you avoid high humidity days, he's pretty heat tolerant and can walk up to 2 miles. Cody seems to love the water! What he loves most of all is to ride in the car! Cody will make a wonderful copilot – again, just have to be careful of the heat with bulldogs.  Cody has a little bit of separation anxiety and anxiety that makes him reactive on a leash.  His foster mom is working on these issues but it will be a work in progress. Cody will most likely require more veterinary care than the average bulldog. He is available to a family with similar experience and excellent veterinary references. The first step is to fill out an application at www.companimals.org. and once approved, we will set up a series of meet and greets and a home visit with Cody. Adoption $500. Should Cody require an MRI at any time in the future, his foster mom will personally pledge $100 towards his MRI. X-rays are available upon request if you would like to share them with your veterinarian prior to starting adoption process.March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm
