(Estimated DOB 2019/2020, estimated weight 60lbs ) LB is a total favorite with us. He is incredibly smart, and has learned many things while with us, such as sit, to walk through and under legs when directed, around, to let you walk around him while sitting, stay, come, wait, to catch treats, and more. He is phenomenal and learns quickly. He loves people, and wants to spend all the time he can with you. He is great about going out to go potty, and comes back in right after if you let him. He crates well. He gets along with other dogs, but like many of his breed, he isn't every dog's cup of tea. He will need a home without cats. We adore him and will be looking for a capable home with time to dedicate to making him the best that he can be. This dog requires a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Meet Bernie! He is a 8-year-old, 46 lb English Bulldog who is looking for his perfect forever home. He is currently living in a foster home, and this is what his foster has to say about him… Bernie is an excellent companion. He has a calm, sweet demeanor and loves pets and affection. He moves slowly and has some arthritic legs and/or hips and will need to be in a single story home without steps. He loves to go outside and to explore the perimeter of our yard or to get a drink of water. He has done well when crated but prefers to be lounging in a dog bed when we are around. He sleeps in the crate at night just fine and only barks when he needs to go outside. He gets along great with our other dogs (we feed them separately to avoid guarding or negative interactions) and is great with small kids (we have a 4- and 6-year-old). Bernie arrived in our care with an anal gland abscess which his foster has been caring for and is healing. He will need a bulldog experienced home that can care for his ears and eyes and continue with the care for his anal gland abscess. Cleaning his face, folds, eyes, ears and anal glands are paramount to his health. Bernie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. HIs fee is $200

FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT: Meet Twix! He is an adorable 12-week-old Bulldog mix. He is sweet and playful and your typical puppy! Since he is still a puppy, he will need a forever home that has an area to frequently take him out for potty breaks and will be committed to obedience training and everything that a puppy needs. He loves other dogs and would love to be in a home with another dog to help show him the ropes as he grows up, or a home that has other dogs in their friend/family circle for him to socialize with. Twix is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped prior to his adoption. His adoption fee is $550.

Animal Profile:  Penny is a 14-month-old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable underbite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  There is information you need to know about this dog before applying for adoption so please read his entire profile on our website www.collarofhope.org  BENTLY WOULD DO BEST AS AN ONLY PET.  HE NEEDS A SPECIAL DIET.   Bently came from a local shelter but we did get a lot of info on his past.  He was with his Mom but she passed away.  During that time, he did escape once and a dark-skinned man beat him unmercifully, even dislocating his shoulder, so understandably, he doesn't do well with darker skinned people now.  After his Mom passed, family took him in.  Observing some things at the shelter, they contacted the family with questions and they admitted that they and the kids teased him horribly with toys and food as well as hit him.  He was super hand shy when we got him and would cower when you went to pet and love on him.  He soon realized that it was nothing but kindness for him now.  Eventually, we saw his resource guarding from being teased and tormented when he tried to take a young dogs treat (the pup was crated with food, a bully stick and toys).  This can take some concerted effort to turn around in the right hands. Without these things around, he's a very friendly and loving boy even playing well and hanging out with some of the other dogs we've had him with.  It's probably best if he's the only dog in the home so there is no chance for altercation over food, treats or toys.   He's only 2 years old and has had a pretty crappy life so it's our goal to insure he's placed in the right home, so he's well loved, taken care of and happy for the rest of his life!   He is also allergic to both chicken and beef as well as grains (which no dogs should be fed).  It's easy to find single protein foods for him.  He's currently doing well on the Natures Domain Turkey from Costco.   If you think you can give this gorgeous boy a wonderful life and home, please submit our adoption application to get the process started!      Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 10:34 pm
