Story
Gus is a little over 4 years old, his birthday is 9-2-21 and we’ve had him since November 21. He did not get the proper training as a puppy but was fine with his older “brother”. Unfortunately he has behavioral issues and we have tried to work on them the last couple years but my kids need to have a normal life too. Gus does not like other kids (besides his family), he only likes 2 dogs that he’s familiar with, no experience with cats so not sure. He’s questionable with new to him adults. However, he’s fine with chickens and is kind of scared of them. He’s also fine with rats and rabbits. He’s very loyal to his people, loves to sleep and snores a lot. He has no food or toy aggression. He knows basic dog commands and doesn’t have potty issues. He’s not a barker unless someone knocks on the dog. He does not like the vacuum and will destroy it if you are not careful. He has nipped in the past but you can somewhat tell when he is hyper focused and we have tried to redirect him.

7.5 months old, adopted her at 3 months. Found abandoned in a park, brought to a neighbor, who put her up on NextDoor and five hours later she came home with me! She is the sweetest, silliest, FUNNIEST girl -- probably 5 of 7 days a week, I end up with either my face or abs sore from laughing. She needs new people because she has turned out to be a high-energy girl. Based on her appearance and vibe, neighbor lady and I were thinking pitty/labby. I've had both and known several others well, but it soon became clear that we were working with something else. Cue the DNA test: 42% boxer, 38% pit, 13% Staffy, 7% supermutt. I am now having a significant and debilitating health issue, single/live alone, and am just not able to give her as much exercise and interaction as she needs. We have given it our all, she's just not happy, and it breaks my heart. She needs 2+ people -- solo person having sick/off days really affects her. She will absolutely THRIVE with more people/activity.

We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Papaya! Papaya is a 1-year-old, medium sized spayed female Lab mix currently fostered in San Antonio, Texas (transport available to approved adopters!). She’s a sweet, happy, people-loving pup who enjoys her daily walks, rides calmly in the car, and is fully housebroken and crate trained. Papaya sleeps through the night, loves her chew toys and rope tugs, and is a smart, eager-to-please girl who’s made great progress with her training. Papaya is playful and social with other dogs, reading their cues well and adjusting her energy accordingly. She even enjoys fence-line play with a neighbor’s Doberman! She stays neutral on walks when it’s just her and her foster mom. She should not live with cats at this time, and while she hasn’t lived with kids, her bouncy puppy energy makes her best suited for homes with older children or dog-savvy families. Papaya would thrive in a moderately active home that enjoys walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. She’d love another friendly dog in the home but could do well as a solo pup with the right guidance. Her foster adores how loving, cuddly, and gentle she is—Papaya thinks everyone she meets owes her a belly rub and happily leans right in for snuggles. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate young dog who’s ready to be your best friend, Papaya is your girl! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
