Story
Have you ever seen a cuter smile?! This bundle of joy and cuteness has the best personality. Shrek always has a smile on his face and he loves everything! He is curious, loves to explore and will always make sure you are smiling. He has that type of personality that will make you giggle even if he’s just sitting there. Mainly because his cute face is so expressive. Shrek also makes the cutest little piglet noises. He loves to throw a toy around to entertain himself or take naps on the couch. Shrek loves to be around people, he’s dog friendly, and also seemed very comfortable around my 5 year old son and three year old daughter. He is eager to please and is going to make a wonderful best friend for someone. Awesome riding in the car as an errand buddy as well! He is a cool best friend to have around. I love how he can keep himself occupied and entertained with a toy around the house. Watch his video here: https://youtu.be/R1yx85EsI2Y?si=Nwr_cTPeM6boZCFe Shrek Forever is what we believe to be a Boston Terrier pittie mix or boxer mix, approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 45 lbs and he is full grown! He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. He has a cute, corkscrew tail and a shiny healthy coat. Shrek absolutely loves everything and loves making new friends! Especially doggie friends. He is very dog friendly and did great meeting every dog we introduced him to. He does pull on the leash when he is meeting new dogs for the first time because he is so excited and does better with off leash introductions. He met dogs as little as 20 lbs and as big as 60 lbs and all he wanted to do is make friends with them all. Shrek is very tolerant with all sorts of play styles. His favorite type of play is rough and rowdy and he also enjoys a good game of chase. Shrek was also introduced to an older dominant female that gives very loud corrections when she doesn’t want to play or if a dog is being too pushy with her and he accepted the corrections very well. He loves to play and will be best placed in a home with another moderately playful dog. He matches the other dog's energy. So if you have a very playful dog, Shrek will play play play like the little engine that could. On the other hand, if you have a dog that is moderately playful that will play for short periods and not engage in further play when they are done playing, Shrek will match that energy and relax. He should be placed in a home with no kitty siblings. He was very interested in our resident cats during our cat test. Shrek does have energy and his preferred home that can get him to a play yard daily whether that be a dog park or a back yard. He loves to explore and would even enjoy going on short hikes with you. You’ll catch him in the yard with you with his nose to the ground getting in all the yummy smells while making the cutest little piglet noises. Shrek would also make for a great running partner and would gladly join you for a run around the neighborhood, just not marathons please. He does great meeting new people and is always eager and happy no matter what is going on. His eagerness to please and consistency will make training that much easier and enjoyable for you and him. To our knowledge, he is potty trained and crate trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once he is in a home. We are willing to test Shrek Forever with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Oh my heck this boy!! Xander Lane will for sure keep you on you toes in the absolute best way. He is goofy, loving, full of personality, and will always keep you entertained and laughing. He's the type of dog that doesn't even necessarily need to be doing anything, just existing and he'll still make you smile with the cute little expressions he makes. One of my favorite things about him is how happy he is all the time and of course the way his tongue peeps out of his mouth. He instantly makes us smile and we know he'll make you smile too. Watch his video here: https://youtu.be/MG2VrOkorno?si=lfTSvRujHmhikXsz Xander Lane is a pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs and is full grown. He is the perfect fun size, not too big and not too small. He is exceptionally dog friendly and loves to make doggy friends. He is best friends with an 80 lb male that is just as goofy as he is and they love playing together. He also met a massive cane corse who is triple he size and he wasn't intimated by him or anything. All he wanted to do was play with him and Xander even took a correction from the big guy for playing too rough and did beautiful with the correction. Xander would love to be adopted out to a family that has another dog that he can play with and romp around in the back yard with. He also would do best in a home with a backyard. He loves to be outside, rolling around in the grass and just living his good ole doggy best life. Xander is medium energy that will require exercise and mental stimulation. He's not a marathon runner nor will he require that much exercise but a good romp in the yard, short run in the neighborhood, and I'm sure would also make a great adventure companion in the mountains. He will need to polish his leash skill and learn some basic obedience manners but he is treat motivated and eager to please. Which will help make any additional training that much more enjoyable. To our knowledge, he is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once in his forever home. We are willing to test Xander Lane with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
This pitiful looking bulldog was picked up by BARC, the City of Houston shelter as a stray from one of the worst parts of Houston. He was not adoptable as he was hairless with skin issues and two cherry eyes (third eyelid bulging requiring surgery). He was on a stray hold and posted to see if any rescues may step up or he would be euthanized the next day. His picture spoke to me and we agreed to foster him so Three Little Pitties pulled him and his life was saved. He had a severe case of dermatitis, smelled terribly, and looked like a pink hairless possum. His disposition from the very beginning told us that this ugly duckling had such a sweet side. He had to have a medicated bath every third day and slowly, his hair started to grow back. He was under weight, but with proper feeding with added salmon oil, he slowly started to gain weight and soon the bulldog personality started to surface. At first, the only toy he knew was a tennis ball. That quickly changed as he was living with a pack of four other dogs who taught him what toys were and he has never looked back. One of the funniest things he does is throw his toy up in the air, he will fling it all over the place so watch the breakables! He knows how to retrieve toys and bring them back to you, and tugging is one of his favorite games. I think the main thing we can say about Mr. Bibble is he is a true clown. Included here in his photo portfolio are the many centerfold pictures of Mr. Bibble, we have been told he should have his own calendar. He was not neutered, so he was pulling our giant dog beds all over the place, and yes, humping them, was one of his favorite pastimes. Now that he is neutered, the humping should subside. He also has had both of his cherry eyes fixed and is quite handsome now! We think at one time he belonged to someone as he has no fear of people and loves attention. He seems intrigued by cats but seems to do well with them. We are working on the housebreaking and he now knows how to ring the bells that are attached to the back door. He now knows how to sit on command and he is really pretty smart. Mr. Bibble is an energic boy of about two years old. He has now put on almost ten pounds and is weighing in at about 48 lbs. He would not be a good fit in a home with young children as he has so much energy, he could possibly knock them over. We are currently working with him on his energy level to make him sit when he gets a bit too rambunctious. He has learned very quickly that our hands are the “good stuff.” The hands give him all the petting, the rubbing, and the attention. He wants that so badly that when he has been in his kennel or away from us for a while, he gets so excited he jumps and tries to get to “the good stuff”, your hands. He has such a big underbite that he doesn’t realize that he is nipping at you while he is so excited. This is typical bulldog behavior and we believe he would do best in a home with another young dog to help with his energy level. In addition, I think his ideal home would be someone with bulldog experience. He could definitely benefit from an obedience class, but as I said, he already knows sit, off, and is learning very fast. He absolutely loves sleeping in the bed and is an incredible cuddler. He loves to toast his buns in front of the fire in the early morning, or wants to lay next to you while you have your morning coffee. We have come very close to foster failing with him, and if we did not already have a pack of four, he wouldn’t be leaving. He has the funniest personality that will always keep you entertained. Please consider being Mr. Bibble’s forever family, he is truly a very special dog. At one time someone’s trash, but I can assure you, he is definitely a true treasure!
