Story
It is almost ironic that this boys name is Skippy, only because he is slow and steady, happy but not the skipping type. So let's say he is Skippy like the peanut butter, golden brown and perfectly thick and creamy. If you love the big boys that have sweet grandpa vibes, Skippy is going to steal your heart just like he did ours. Here is a direct quote from one of our best volunteers who loves to take Skippy boy on doggy dates with her: Skippy- so chill, easy, sweet, gentle! All around great dog! Great with people, being around other dogs, great in his crate and in a yard. Take a look, get to know him and see his cuteness in motion, then come back and learn more. https://youtu.be/ISWqfP9JXYo With a dog like him it is hard to know where to start- he has so many amazing qualities! Lets get the “business” out of the way- Skippy is estimated to be 3 years old, weighs 74 lbs, and is possibly a Staffie/pitbull mix but given he is a rescue we cannot offer his age or breed with 100% certainty. Those are just details, what really matters is the heart of him, and it is good as gold. If you are looking for a running partner, he will miss the mark there, but if you are looking for a sweet kisses couch potato, you are in the right spot. On leash, Skippy is slow and steady, occasionally he will get a little power up and go a few feet in the cutest, sped up prance, but thats it. You may get two of those on a walk, otherwise you are Sunday strolling. When passing another dog he will show interest but he is not going to insist on meeting them or give them much more than a friendly glance. Skippy does know sit and is very patient when waiting for a treat. He is very treat motivated and attentive to his people, which typically translates to a dog that learns new skills and commands with ease. When he had his fun day out at chicken and pickle for a tasty chicken nugget and game of pickle ball, he had a wonderful time! This guy was sweet with everyone, including kids! As long as they are willing to share some of that gooooood chicken! Skippy does love to give kisses and will occasionally slip a little “pibble-nibble” in. If you know what that is you know, they are cute but usually end in a moment of bopping their nose because it starts to feel like nibble-nibbles. All in love! If you haven’t experienced it, imagine sweet doggy kisses with just the tiniest hint of teeth that chatter on your skin. It is affection and a behavior dogs share with each other so feel the love and then give him a little tiny push on his nose- he knows and usually wraps it up with one last, extra sweet kiss. This boy is great in the company of other dogs. He has been introduced to so many dogs and each and every time it is calm and friendly. Bouncy playful types don’t quiet know why he wont play and the slow, companion types enjoy his energy, but his type is definitely the calm but friendly female dogs. Skippy would love a companion in his forever home with the ideal match being a dog that has a similar energy to him. We did introduce Skippy to our house cat, he was very interested in him and whined while he was in the room. Given his size and interest in the cat we would recommend a cat-free home to avoid the potential chaos a dog and cat can create. An ideal home would be a house with a yard, he loves being outside and you will love looking out the kitchen window to see him wander around just being the best boy, happy as can be. And don’t worry if you have a front yard, he isn’t going bark at the mail carrier or delivery drivers. Multiple times he has been outside in the front yard when multiple trucks and deliveries arrived and not once did he bark at anyone. He may whine a little but personally, I think its really cute. Inside the house he is quiet, he may whine hearing another dog bark but he doesn’t bark back. He will bark in the crate for just a bit then he settles in. It isn’t excessive and truly, I think he is trying to see if he can get you to call in sick and stay home with him. Can you blame him for trying? Basically, Skippy is a big ol’ lover boy and he is ready to come home! Questions? Story
Y'all, I love Valley Girl SO MUCH! There are seriously so many great things I can say about her that it won't all fit here in this text box and I wish it did because she is that awesome. For starters, Valley was born to be a family dog! She has been around so many different age groups of kids and is amazing around them all. Even babies as young as 1 year old. I know this because she has personally be in my home with my 1 year old son. When I say she was better around him than my own personal dogs, I mean it. Valley was so gentle around him, wasn't bothered by all the crying, loud noises, all the chaos that comes with having a baby, and wasn't even bothered by his grabbing hands. Watch her video and see her in my home with my son and how perfect she is: https://youtu.be/gRsnZOJWJfI?si=TslU0H6mOoEcssIi Valley Girl is a pittie mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 67 lbs of pure love. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. I can promise you that you will never know a dog that will love you and impact your life the way that Valley Girl will. She is the soul dog you've been looking for. One thing about Valley that I love the most is how happy she is all the time. Seriously, no matter what this girl is always so happy. I also love just how easy she is and how comfortable she was the second she walked into my home. Valley didn't hesitate one bit making her self feel right at home. She honestly acted like she had been in my house before even though that was the first time. I also want to mention, once we got home it was very chaotic and I was running around like a mad women. I had a screaming baby that was hungry, my personal dogs barking like crazy, had things to unload out of my car, and had to rush to get ready for a dinner reservation. So Valley was quite literally thrown into the mix of my chaotic home and she was just along for the ride. Valley was left shortly after coming to my house (where she has never been before) and was kenneled for at least 4 hours in a new environment, in the same room with another dog kenneled in close proximity, and when we got back home, her kennel was clean and it didn't even look like she tried to get out to her kennel either. Which would have been very easy for her to do because it was not the most secure kennel. She did bark out of excitement one we got home but that was it. She immediately got over her initial excitement and was snuggling on the couch with me. I have fostered a lot of dogs in the past and I have never had a dog be so easy to transition into my daily routine than Valley. Which just goes to show how confident and happy she is wherever she goes, regardless of what is going on. I have no doubt that she will act the exact same way once you bring her home as well. Valley immediately took to my husband and absolutely adored him! She loved rubbing all up over him, leaning in for affection and sneaking in those famous kisses of hers. She also did great meeting my mom who she has never met before. Valley didn't make a peep when my mom walked through the door and even with my personal dogs going crazy and barking like buffoons, Valley still didn't bark. She was so inviting and loving towards my mom and I've seen her act this way with other strangers as well when she is out in public. Valley loves every single person that she meets. She has been to places likes Home Depot, ice cream shops, dog-friendly restaurants, pet stores, through the drive-thru, and every time - she loves everyone she meets. Valley is a social butterfly that you can take anywhere, have friends and family over at your house, and she will be as loving as she always is. She rides great in the car and I like to call her "passenger princess" because she loves sitting in the passenger seat, looking out the window, watching everything pass us by. She also does great on longer car rides as well. I have had her in the car with me for over an hour and she almost fell asleep sitting up. Valley can be your next road trip bestie! The absolute best thing about Valley that I am obsessed with, is how snuggly she is and how easy they are to come by. She doesn't need to be exercised before wanting to cuddle up or need some sort of mental stimulation to wear her out. Valley has no problem lounging around all day if you're not feeling well or just want a lazy day. She is all for it! Valley turns into the best weighted blanket where she will wedge herself in between you and the pillows of the couch, sprawling out and nuzzling her nose into the covers or resting her head on your chest while you watch a movie. You know she's real cozy when she starts to snore LOL. She doesn't snore loud though, it's just cute little piggy grunts really. Valley will sleep throughout the night in bed with with and she hardly ever moves either. Which is also a bonus because the last thing you want is to be constantly woken up by a dog. She will cuddle in the beginning, give you all the kisses, and will let you wrap your arms around her for the ultimate snuggles and will lay her head on your pillow. There is no shortage of cuddles with her, which I love. Even in the mornings, after a good nights rest, she is not bouncing off the walls with energy. Valley is calm in the mornings and even takes her time waking pup. After she did her morning business and ate her breakfast she was already posted up in my bed while I was getting ready and looking out the windows. If you have kids, you know how crazy mornings can be and she did not add to that chaos one bit. Valley is more than just snuggles and cuteness. She’s smart too! Valley already has mastered commands like sit, stay, out, has a great recall and has learned to walk with a gentle leader. A gentle leader is just another type of leash and some dogs just walk better with them. Valley girl is one of them! Especially when she sees a squirrel LOL. She loves squirrels and likes to chase them, they are just so exciting for her but when she is using her gentle lead leash, she is a lot easier to redirect. She did great walking with me and my little family and wasn't even bothered by my son's stroller either. She has had zero accidents at my house and can hold it all through out the night with no accidents. She understands that potty time is for outside only. She will immediately do her business the second she is outside. Valley also didn't ever get into anything that she wasn't suppose to either. Which was super comforting to know that I could could trust her to not destroy anything because it's already hard to keep up with a 1 year old that gets into everything, let alone having to worry about a mischievous dog at the same time. Valley is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat. Even with how food motivated she is, Valley has perfect table manners and isn't trying to steal your food off the table while you're eating. She didn't even try to steal my sons food when my mom was feeding him some muffins and it was definitely within reach. She sat there waiting patiently and even got a little bite because she was being so good. One thing that really impressed me was how she acted after she had people food. Some dogs will get all excited once that happens and not leave you alone hopping to get more but not Valley. She laid back down, walked off did her own thing and didn't become obsessive at all over it. Valley is dog friendly and does great passing by other dogs when you're out on a walk or when she sees other dogs in public. She doesn't bark at other dogs when she sees them either. In a home, Valley does best with confident males that like to play, enjoy those rumble and tumble wrestling matches, and also appreciate those calm relaxing moments too. Which is why she loved her best friend George. He would play wrestle with her and would let her go off and do her own thing as well. If you have another dog, she would be best paired with a male that has a similar temperament as him. Valley also is not the type of lady that needs another dog in the home to help her feel comfortable and open up or fill her energy needs. She is a confident and happy girl all on her own and she has a perfectly balanced energy that a walk around the neighborhood or game of fetch in the backyard is all she needs. Valley's love is the equivalent of two dogs combined so you won't ever have to worry about not feeling loved from this girl. She would also be best in a home with out kitty friends as well. Valley Girl is a true gem, and she deserves a forever family who will shower her with all the love and attention she craves. She's a total sweetheart. If you’re looking for a playful, resilient, and endlessly sweet companion to brighten your days, Valley is just waiting to fill your heart with joy! We are willing to test Valley Girl with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
**Fostered in Everett, WA and ready for meet and greets!** This is the biggest Kitten you will see today! This Kitten is a big, lovable girl who is bouncy and playful, with a contagious amount of happiness. This girl loves her people from the moment she meets them. Her foster notes that she is "SO affectionate"! She enjoys standing you or sitting in your lap smoothering you in kisses! Safe to say, this big girl definitely thinks she's a lap dog! She is a little shadow following you everywhere, and staring up at you with her squishy face and puppy dog eyes no one can resist. Her nickname is Big Baby Love Bug for a reason! Take a look at her video and come back for more! https://youtu.be/jVKBZY9fMYQ?si=JArQjGjw9M-8bUNo Estimated to be 3 years old and weighing 73 lbs, she is fully grown, and we cannot dance around it, she is a big girl. Given her size and eagerness to experience all the amazing things the world has to offer, a handler that can physically manage her will be key to keeping her focus. She listens well and is very attentive, no worries there, a little muscle is just for good measure. Plus she is treat motivated which will only help when it comes time to practice leash skills or obedience. Her love of treats make us think she will be a good student. She even knows how to sit! She is interested in people food, but is not pushy and accepts a "no" with ease. Kitten would thrive in a family home, and kids who are steady on their feet would be ideal so she doesn’t knock any littles over with love. She currently lives with a 5 and 8 year old. Her favorite part of the day is waking them up for school, and greeting them again when they arrive home! She is potty trained and crate trained. She sleeps like a rock all through the night in her crate. She is an amazing work from home companion, snoring the day away on her bed. She will come up when you have breaks for extra reassurance that she is a good girl! Kitten would most likley need a home with a yard, given the fact that she can be a lot on a leash because of her eagerness to give affection to everyone she sees! She would also do well in a home with another dog. Kitten does well with other dogs, especially confident, playful males who like to have a good time and don’t mind a big, bouncy playmate. She has a balanced way of playing—happy to engage but able to set boundaries if another dog is too rowdy. Kitten would love a moderately playful canine friend in her new home. She would also do great in a home with a small dog as a well. She met our small dog tester Mateo and you see her in her video, sharing treats, snuggling on the bed together, sharing affection, etc. There was a moment when she got a little too excited and Mateo of course didn't want to be stepped on and he growled at her and she respected his correction and understood that she needed to be a little more gentle around him. Kitten is an all around good doggy friend to all. Since she is so loving and people oriented, she also wouldn't mind being the center of your attention if you don't have other dogs. She is a happy and confident girly all on her own and does not need the comment of another dog to help her feel comfortable and be the social butterfly that she is. For a family who wants a loyal, attentive companion, Kitten’s affectionate nature is going to feel amazing, her and that happy heart are a real treasure. Because of her size and occasionally bouncy happiness, she’d be a great fit for a home with older kids who can handle her big-hearted energy. And despite her name Kitten is not meant for a kitten. Basically, no cats for Kitten! She’s a little too interested in them and might find it hard to resist chasing a feline friend around the house. If you’re ready to introduce people to you new 73lb Kitten, she is just as ready! If this was her dating profile, then kitten is ready for her long-term committed relationship. She will love you from the second you bring her home! Kitten is looking to share her big hearted excitement for life. Could that be with you and yours? Story
This is Teddy Boy and with a name like that, you know what you’re in store for. We’re talking serious big hug energy. We all know the feeling of a perfectly timed hug, it’s a level of free therapy we all want and need- a true teddy bear in every sense! With his soft, cozy, warm brown fur and an irresistible charm, he’s the kind of pup that makes everyone feel better just by being around. From his absolute lover boy vibe to the fun-uncle approach he has with kids- he is a swoon for the ladies and a dream wingman for the gentlemen. Watch Teddy Boy’s video and FALL IN LOVE with him: https://youtu.be/hB7Hvb85a00?si=R1_PYPQW6McRmt05 Now, let’s get down to business. While we can't be 100% sure about his breed or age, we suspect Teddy is some type of American Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be around 3.5 years old and 62 lbs- a true hunk-of-love. Put the numbers aside, let’s talk about what really matters—Teddy’s personality and all of the other things that make Teddy a great family dog! His true crown and glory is how amazingly calm, patient, gentle and tolerant of it all when it comes to the littles. Truly, queue the AWWWW of a room full of women who got to watch a five year old squeeze Teddys neck with whole body for Teddy to turn around and lick his face with all the love a bully can have for a boy. If Teddy was put on this earth for one thing it’s to spread the warmth of what we call the “Teddy experience,” which starts with slobbery kisses and ends in tail-wagging bliss. He is a family-approved cuddler with a side of patient saint. When it comes to strangers, the word does not exist in Teddy's vocabulary. He loves every single person he meets. It's honestly something to admire. He greets everyone like he has known them his entire life and showers them all with slobbery kisses and those big grand hugs of his. Only if you let him though! He is mindful if that's not someone's cup of tea but he will test the waters to see at first. He just wants people to know how much he loves him is all. Teddy is the perfect dog to take with you places or if you like having friends over because of how friendly he is. In public, surrounded by crowds - true gentleman happy to be there. At home with friends over - a soft friendly welcome followed by snuggles. In the car, going through the drive thru - a happy boy with the biggest smile sticking his head out the window saying hello. Truly, Teddy can do it all. As far as canine-companions go, he is very dog friendly! Teddy absolutely loves to play and brings that fun uncle energy when he is plating with other dogs. He is bouncing, bobbing, doing these quick feet type movements, inviting play with the most perfect play bows, and having the time of his life. Teddy loves to wrestle and loves when he is with other dogs that love wrestling too. You know that what we're talking about, the kind of rumble and tumble moments where slobber is flying, grumbly noises are being heard, paws are flopping around, and they are both rolling around like a couple of goofy puppies. There's lots of mouthy play and exaggerated movement with tails wagging the whole time and the occasional bark; in Teddy's case a snort LOL. He is actually a little pig not a dog. It might look a little wild but it's all in good fun. Teddy knows how to read the room and knows who he can play wrestle with and who he can't. I have personally seen him with so many different dogs all with different energies, play styles, tolerance, etc. and he does such a great job and figuring out who he can play with or if there is any potential of playing in general. For example, he has spent a lot of time with a older pittie girl who really just likes to lay in the grass and sunbathe, that's all she wants to do and Teddy was so gentle with her and didn't even try to play with her. He accidentally bumped into once and she growled at him and he just acted like, "oh sorry friend, I didn't see you there." He has also been with male dogs that love to play chase and want dogs to chase them and Teddy adjusted to that type of play even though all he wanted to do was wrestle. He knew the other dog didn't want to play that way and respected that. He did try to test to see if the other dog would wrestle with him but he didn't and Teddy respected that. There was no one else in the yard that would play with Teddy so he just went off, sought out affection from the people that were there and ended up finding a little muddy/water hole patch to relax in. Queue the piggie reference LOL. If you don't have other dogs, Teddy fills the “shoes” of at least two dogs and would love to be the one who single-pawed, lights up your life. He does not need the company of another dog to help him feel comfortable and open up, he is confident and SO LOVING all on his own. He also doesn't need the company of another dog fulfill his energy needs. Mental stimulation games, likes puzzles, Kongs, or physical exercise such a playing ball in the backyard, going on a walk around the neighborhood, or even going on a day date to the farmers market, or local brewery to meet up with friends will be both physical and mentally tiring. Once you're home he'll be a tired boy and ready for all the naps and snuggles. With feline friends, he had a bit too much interest in our resident cat, Tom—so, no feline friends for Teddy. Not a deal-breaker in our book. He’s been lucky enough to be fostered in a loving home, where he’s mastered the fine art of house manners and is both house and crate trained. Yes, you heard that right—no messy surprises here! Not only does he have stellar house manners, Teddy is very smart too. He already knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, is a perfect gentleman out in public, has a generally good recall already, and is a fast learner! Teddy attended an event recently and there was a prime picture worthy moment but no where to tie his leash up to so practiced the place command right then and there! When we say, Teddy instantly knew what was expected of him, HE DID! You can see it for yourself in his video. It was so impressive to because there was a lot going on, a lot of stimulation, noises, people walking by, other dogs, you name it and Teddy learned the makings of a good place command in seconds. Teddy also has wonderful manners in the car! He is completely capable of loading up and unloading all on his own. He might need a booty push every now and then LOL if he's had a long day and is tired. You'll know if he needs help because he'll stand there and look back at you with this look of, "um excuse me, can I get a little assistance please?" During car rides you have the option of letting him ride shotgun or in the back without tethering him. He'll look out the window regardless of where he is sitting. He doesn't bark, he just watches all the passerby's and patients waits for the destination. If an affectionate boy who is real easy on the bully-loving eyes is what you are looking for then you have found him! The soft fur, the warm kisses, his adoring approach to kids, grade-a snuggles, and a true-blue loyal companion, Teddy is your boy! He’s ready to be yours! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Meet Polly! Polly-Anna, Polly Pocket, Polly Pittie, Polly-wog, the cheeky nicknames are endless! And the names are all as cute and sweet as she is. If you are looking for quiet companionship and playful charm, this lovable lady is ready, waiting, and available. Fall in love with Polly here: Estimated to be around 8 or 9 years old and weighing about 50 pounds, Polly is the perfect example of mellow maturity. While we think she might be a pittie mix—maybe with a touch of Lab—her true breed and exact age is anyone’s guess, but what we do know is she’s 100% lovable, huggable, good girl. Don’t let her age fool you, though—Polly still gets the zoomies now and then and will happily share a playful moment before curling up next to you for cuddles. Polly is fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in the home of a loving foster. This is wonderful for so many reasons. This gives us a front-row seat to the day to day girl Polly is while she gets to learn and enjoy the rhythm of home life. So far we know she loves cuddles on the couch, is very adoring of her person, enjoys standing in a baby pools to cool her paws, and will gently carry around a toy in her mouth. Her foster mom has shared, she’s a dream in her crate, settling in quietly without barking or whining. On top of everything else, she loves a car ride with the wind in her face! Polly would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a family who understands her laid-back nature. She’s happy to take short walks or enjoy a little time outdoors, but she doesn’t need a yard to be happy. Even though Polly is good on leash and redirects easily when needed, she would love suburb or country life over anything else. As we all age, the quiet life becomes the dream life! Polly gets along well with other dogs, but as a mature lady, she appreciates calm companions who respect her relaxed vibe. When introduced to new dogs she calmly shared space with small interactions here and there. Overall, its easy to see the Polly is for the people and will be more than happy as a solo-dog. A cat-free home would also be ideal, but Polly has done wonderful with everything else, enjoying kids and car-rides Polly is an easy, lovable dog who asks for little but gives so much in return. Story
Maribella is ready to be your family dog. She could be the perfect running partner, dog park going, play date loving best friend you never knew you needed. She can also just be your quiet napping companion while you work. Or your cuddle buddy/little spoon! She loves to check in with her people, making sure she is behaving and coming in for a boop here and there. She is trainable simply because of her people pleasing nature. She loves to boop people and other doggies with her cute nose rather than give kisses. It’s so funny! We love everything about this girl from her blue grey coat to her little cow lick down the top of her neck! She’s super soft and she has a little bit of a ridge down her back! Watch Maribella here: https://youtu.be/f9fzCgCaJDU?si=yblJtVDDTQwy9rep Maribella is great in the house and not destructive. She is quiet, not a lot of barking or whining, acts like she has lived in a home environment previously and has very good manners. She does not have any accidents in her kennel or free roaming from what we’ve seen. While her foster works on the computer she is a good girl and naps on the floor. She would make a perfect work from home companion! When you’re sitting there working on your computer every once in a while, she will want to show love, so she will jump up to give you a hug or she will try to slowly crawl into your lap. She is extremely loving and affectionate. She knows how to sit on command and loves rolling onto her back for belly rubs. This girl loves meeting new doggy friends. She gets really excited at first, so give her a chance to show you what a good girl she is. She has more of a rowdy play style, so we could see her fitting in a home with higher energy doggy siblings, or dogs that don’t mind showing her the right ways to behave. She became instant best friends with the dogs she met here at the rescue. Maribella loves praise more than anything in the world, so she will often look to her people to get approval throughout play time, which is great! She will be very tuned in with her person, whoever that may be. Could it be you? Maribella is one of those girls that is going to be deeply loyal, caring, and attentive to her family. She does all of this while still being respectful of new people without being overly eager. Maribella is very gentle with kids! She hung out with her fosters son, age 7 and seemed very comfortable from the beginning. With no hesitation at all, she wanted to give him kisses. She’s extremely affectionate, she’ll slip in gentle kisses here and there. Maribella really wants to hug you and she’ll put her head on your shoulder for a really long hug if you will have her. She will look up at you with her puppy dog eyes looking into yours, and wants to give and get love. She’s pretty confident, she doesn’t seem scared of anything, including when her fosters young son was throwing a balloon around in the air and hitting her with it. Her tail continued to wag. We could see her being a family dog with kids. We are happy to test this girl with whatever you may need. Just let us know! Ready to apply?
Story
Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart, this one lives there. Cue the music for My Girl, My Girl, My Girl, talking about My Girl...... Cherie aka Mya! She is loyal, gentle, wise beyond her years, and she's the kind of dog who seems to know what you need before you do. Whether that's curling up next to you after a long day at work or being that nurturing loving presence to your kids. Mya is always there. She's the nanny dog of every family's dream too and loves being a family dog. She watches over the little ones, soothes them with a soft nudge or kiss, and places herself beautifully right between chaos and calm. She the kind of dog that counts heads before settling in for a nap, who knows the sound of a baby's cry before you do, and who's always there to be a listening ear for those sweet baby talks. She's not just a dog, she's YOUR heart dog and YOUR kids heart dog. Watch her video and fall in love with this sweet soul: https://youtu.be/rJHC7DsOEMQ?si=FOJ7GGPLchX45x31 Mya is believed to be a boxer/pittie mix approximately 8 years young, only weighs 45 lbs pounds. She's the perfect medium size, not too big and not too small. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can promise you that Mya is the sweetest little angel. Mya currently shares her home with a family that has small children, and she ADORES them! The tiny humans she is currently fostered with are ages 6, 3, and 3 months. She is so incredibly gentle and loves being on the receiving end of their kisses, hugs, and giggles galore! She even lets them dress her in cute little outfits! Mya also extends her love and gentleness even towards other children as well. When other kids come over or when she sees other kids out on their walks she is just as loving with them as she is to the ones she is fostered with. She is probably the closest definition to an actual nanny dog. How she is with kids, really is the sweetest thing ever. Mya is even great to take on family walks throughout the neighborhood or local park. She is so easy to walk on a leash and rarely ever pulls. She is so easy that even the 6 year old is able to walk her. Mya also has no issues walking side by side to a stroller as well nor does she ever get in the way of the stroller. Mya also peacefully shares her home with cats and another pup, but she would much prefer to be the princess of her castle and soak up all the love for herself. Nothing short of what she absolutely deserves! That being said, the right family with the right dog and/or cat, could be a possibility. She is the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or who prefer the quiet life of couch snuggling and binge watching marathons. Cherie rides well in the car, and is fully house and crate trained! Though she may protest just a little because her favorite thing is to be out with her people! Mya's dream home would have a backyard out in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Not that she minds the loud noises or the crowds of city life, she just a relaxed and calm lady we think would prefer living in a residential neighborhood and would probably love her own yard to sunbathe in on those warm spring and summer days. She also gets excited and does these adorable little jumps to go outside too which is another reason why we prefer to see her go to a home with a yard. Ultimately, wherever she ends up calling "home", Mya is poised to spend her Golden Years giving all of the love and quiet companionship that Senior dogs are especially known for. We are willing to test My Girl Cherie, aka Mya with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
A dog doesn’t just get the name Fabio for no reason. The name alone gives you a clear image of a striking specimen and the day I met him, I was not disappointed. He is the epitome of why we say rescue is our favorite breed because this boy is unique and interesting in the way only a mixed-up rescue dog could be. A brown-eye, a blue-eye, the looks of a shepherd/husky and the face of a bull terrier. Stunning! Fabio is so fortunate and is being dedicated in a loving foster home where he has really displayed what a keeper he is. From his house manners to his dog-friendly personality, he just fit right in. His foster shared that he slipped right into the routine of things around her house and was fast friends with all the dogs. Not only is Fabio house-trained but he is also crate-trained, has great basic leash skills, and a growing number of basic commands. His foster family frequently takes him out and about for errands or local events and they shared that he has consistently been great easy-company! Fabios foster home includes 6 dogs, a few cats, along with an occasional “guest” who is just passing through. This has really highlighted how dog-friendly Fabio is. Although Fabio is a large dog with a love for physical play, he can read other dogs well and does not push if a dog is not interested. He also has an understanding of his size versus smaller dog friends. Fabio would love a home with an equal sized, playful, female companion but can live peacefully with small dogs. When we introduced Fabio to our house cat he was respectfully cautious and his foster shared he co-exists peacefully with their cats. Fabio could live in a home with dog-savvy cats who feel comfortable around dogs but do not need a playmate in the dog. Fabio is estimated to be about 4 years old and he weighs 60 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot guarantee given he is a rescue but his personality and presence do fit a dog who has left his puppy days behind. He loves to play but also knows how to take a break, whether that is outside with doggie friends or while out and about at an event- we love that quality! Initially Fabio likes to take it slow with his people but ill give you an insider tip- he loves treats and loves to work for them. You will have his full-attention with a handful of treats and the space to show off the commands he knows. As comfortable as Fabio has shown he can be in public settings, he ultimately loves the peaceful nature of home and having space to run and play so a home with a yard is best for his fur-ever home. Fabio could easily be a family dog and would be well-suited for older kids 10+ who understand he needs time to warm-up, you can’t rush forever. If Fabio stole your heart with his piercing eyes and striking presence, apply today! A dog like him is truly one-of-a-kind and will not be available for long. He is undeniably something special! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
If you are looking for a gentle family dog, with the face of a badger and the a peaceful presence, you have found her! She is dog-friendly, has wonderful house manners (including being house-trained) is feline-friendly, adores kids, and has great basic leash skills. The list could go on and on. When you watch her video you will see, I was immediately enamored by her easy company and how she just radiates love. See for yourself then come back to read more! Abbey feels comfortable and familiar from the moment you meet her. One of the first things that stood out to me was how gently she approaches a new person, she makes her presence known with a little lick on your hand or by slightly leaning into your legs. No jumping, barking, or sense of urgency, just her easy-going presence. Estimated to be around 8 months old, she currently weighs a perfect 37 lbs, which will change given she still has some growing to do. Breed and age are details we cannot guarantee given she is a rescue but she also has us a little stumped in breed observations. If you ask me she looks like a mini St. Bernard. Is that a thing? I don’t know but given we can’t guarantee it anyway lets say she is maybe a little boxer, a little St.Bernard and guaranteed cute! She is all love and is already showing the most beautiful traits- adoring, gentle, loving, and loyal. One of my favorite things about Abbey is how peaceful her presence is. She is quiet company that feels like you have always known. This same sense of good-company doesn’t stop with dogs. Abbey is fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in the home of a devoted foster where she has shown she gets along beautifully other dogs. We introduced her to a handful of new dogs to gauge her playfulness and friendliness with other dogs and we saw the same- friendly and easy-going. She was at ease and made connections with a variety of dogs, showing so much patience to some extra pushy and excited new friends. In addition to being dog friendly, Abbey was polite and respectful with our resident house cat. From what we saw we would consider her cat-tolerant and given her age she will socialize to her new homes pets wonderfully. Given her size and quiet nature, Abbey could be an apartment girlie but her age and love of play would be beautifully suited for a house with a yard. I can’t imagine many homes Abbey wouldn’t be well suited for. She is going to show up and feel like she has always been yours and greet your guests with that same warm, welcoming energy. If a simply perfect love-bug of a dog is what you are seeking, Abbey will deliver! If you can guard her big loving heart and keep the love coming her way, she promises sweetness, adoration, and loyalty in return. She a four-legged friend who's sheer presence is calming, with a simple goodness, charm and a winning face! Abbey is available for adoption now and truly a one of a kind! Don’t miss your chance at this amazing girl! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation.
