Sadly, Boris' family had to surrender him to the shelter when his primary guardian was moved into hospice care. The human he knew his whole life was taken from him, and Boris found himself inside a kennel at a very noisy and very overcrowded shelter. Boris spent his early life inside a cage as a laboratory testing beagle, so we sure didn't want this fella to have to spend any more time in a cage, EVER. When Boris came to us, he had a lot of health issues going on, showing signs of real neglect for what had to have been a fairly long time. He had a fatty tumor on his front leg that wrapped completely around the leg and required a very extensive surgery to remove it. That tumor did some real damage to that leg and Boris walks with a significant limp. Does that slow this fella down? Heck, no. NO ONE believes Boris is 14 years old. He acts like a much younger dog and has ALL the beagle characteristics: loves food. LOVES food. LOVES FOOD. He is also still playful and energetic and VERY SWEET. Cash is ready for his forever home and we think he will make a most excellent BFF for the right human. This beagle boy is PLAYFUL and SWEET! Bruno had an appointment to be surrendered to the shelter - along with his seven puppies and his puppies' mama - when an animal lover stepped in. She reached out to us for help. Unfortunately, five of the puppies were already given away - at four weeks old! We're so glad we got Bruno and his lady love Boosa and two of the puppies into a temporary foster home ASAP. Bruno is so sweet with the puppies. He is affectionate and playful. Just an all-around great beagle-boy. We need a foster home for Bruno ASAP so he can settle in and adjust to a new life far from the backyard breeding situation he was living in. This beautiful beagle will make a wonderful BFF for the right human!
