The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Wilbur is a 2-year-old Basset Hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality. His family loved him but realized they didn’t have the time a young dog needs, so they began searching for a rescue to help him find the right home. Wilbur was in Mexico and needed veterinary care, and a wonderful foundation reached out to us to see if we could take him in. We happily said yes! Wilbur has now received the care he needed and is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever family. True to his breed, Wilbur is a typical hound—always cheerful and not shy about vocalizing his feelings. He loves to “talk” and will happily let you know what’s on his mind. Wilbur adores other dogs and would love a home with a playful canine companion. He also loves people and is a total snuggle bug who enjoys affection and quality time with his humans. Wilbur is an all-around wonderful dog who’s ready to give lots of love. He’s hoping to find an equally wonderful family to call his own. Wilbur‘s adoption fee: $600We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. Barnaby Jones is an adorable 1 year old that unfortunately was in an accident in the San Bernardino area. The shelter asked us to take him as he needed xrays and immediate medical attention which our rescue provided. He will be neutered by our group once he has completely healed - Barnably Jones is currently available for adoption with a medical waiver. Gentle walks and no small children are recommended for his full recovery.

NO out of state adopters will be accepted or considered even if your are in Northern California we will not adopt to that area either. MUST LIVE In Orange County to be able to adopt from us. NO LA area or LA county -- PUPPY criteria / description- we are looking for applicants who have pup under 20 pounds and under 4 years old in the home currently. Estimated to be 8 weeks he will be getting his first set of shots this week. Foster to adopt ONLY we will be taking care of all the medical for example we will be doing all vaccines and spaying/ neutering which the adoption fee will be covered by it. MUST be willing to commute to TUSTIN for vaccines and neutering be held in city of Orange. - WE will not make any exceptions sorry.
