Hey there!  My name is Buddy and I am in search of my new pack! I am an 8-year-old basset boy looking for a home with patience and understanding.   You see, I’ve had some misunderstandings where I get startled and can be assertive about my space when I am asleep or someone tries taking my toy. I’m not normally aggressive and I need someone who can help me learn new routines and help me control my anxiety.   I get along with other dogs and love playing with them and running in grass!  Like most bassets, I am a huge fan of belly rubs and long naps. I take protecting my pack seriously and can get a little aggressive with my food and territory, so it’s better if I am in a home without young children.   I am fully house-trained and can be a sweet dog, I just need direction and a family who can be consistent and has time to help me work through my challenges.  I would love to meet you and show you what a good boy I can be, so contact BHRSC and ask for Buddy!   Buddy is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.  He has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning.  His adoption fee is $350. ##659339##

Tesha is a good dog but has a few issues.  Tesha is incontinent and is unable to control her bladder. She's about 3 years old and is a basset hound breed.  She can be aggressive with any other animals so it is best that she be in a home as an only animal in the home. She is blind in one and has chronic skin issues that will need attention daily. She can be very loving with certain individuals but does not like strange females as all. She has a fun black white and brown spotted coat. Her little tail always wags when she is happy.  She is a very loud barker but is able to be calm in the mornings but can bark at night a lot. She has been fixed and is up to date on all vaccines.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. Meatball is a 3-1/2 yr old Basset Hound/Pitbull mix that weighs about 50 lbs. He was brought to a shelter after being found as a stray in the Oxnard area. He is house trained, loves car rides. He’s a huge sweetheart who gives big kisses and wants to play all the time but gets tired pretty quick! He’s been at the dog beach, gone hiking and practiced off leash behavior in multiple outdoor settings. Meatball has a hard time separating from his current caretaker and will be working with a trainer who will help his transition into another home. He is crate trained and has a clean bill of health, is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
