Story
Hello, My family: Rosebud (F, momma), Elmer (M, daddy), Zinnia (F), Roisin (F, Irish for Rose), and Magnolia (F). We were found on a country road with few houses and fewer cars passing by. To our blessing, a lady in a pickup truck came by shortly after we were dumped. It was also in our favor she knew who we were and that our owner had died. Our savior was a foster mom for this dog rescue. We are healthy, happy, and ready for our very own homes. We are shy at first with strangers, but that doesn't last long. We are social babies. Our foster mom has many other dogs/ puppies, cats/ kittens, and horses. We love the water. There is a little swimming pool and a creek. Rosebud (F) would like to go for walks or hiking. Elmer (M) Is special needs. When he exited the yard one day, he returned the next day. Something had attacked him. His left leg had repairs done outside and inside of his rear leg. No residual problems. He also had one toe on his left foot amputated. Zinnia (F), Roisin (F), and Magnolia (F) are the silliest, happiest girls. They love putting their face in the water and blowing bubbles—just clowns. We are all ready to be adopted. Please request an application today, alittlelonger2home@gmail.com, to begin our journey home to you. I am prepared for an adventure! I want to see the beach, lake, apple orchards, hiking trails... Zinnia Spayed Female Breed Basset Hound mix Color White and fawn Age 7 months old (As of 09/08/2024) Weight 20lbs Great with people, children, dogs/ puppies, cats/ kittens and horses Adoption donation $495

Story
**Please read Bridget's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application. Thank you!** Meet Bridget: The Low-Rider with a Gold Star Heart! Age: 4 Years | Weight: 40 lbs | Breed: Basset/Lab Mix Bridget is the ultimate "low and slow" companion. With the soulful eyes of a Basset and the friendly spirit of a Lab, she’s a unique 40-pound sweetheart who is ready to find her first real home. The Lowdown on Bridget: Social Butterfly: She is incredibly friendly with all people! She has done well with children, though she’d prefer a home with older, calmer kids who match her mellow vibe. Dog-Friendly: Bridget enjoys the company of other dogs, provided they are calm and relaxed. She’s more of a "nap partner" than a "wrestler." In Training: Since she hasn't spent much time living indoors, Bridget is currently working on her housebreaking and leash skills. She’s a smart girl who just needs a patient routine and a little guidance to master the "house dog" life. Her Ideal Match: Bridget is looking for a patient family who will celebrate her small victories as she learns the ropes of indoor living. In return, she’ll provide a lifetime of loyalty and gentle tail wags. All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Harper Lee, you must fill out an adoption application. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
