Guidelines for the meeting are: - Bring a leash and collar and be prepared to take the animal home directly from the meeting. - Meeting should be no longer than 1 hour. Our fosters are volunteers and we value and respect their time and personal commitments. - All members of the household (including other dogs) must be present. - Please be prepared to submit adoption fee via electronic payment at the meeting. - If all goes well, the dog will go home with you directly after the meeting. If you are not ready to adopt at the conclusion of the meeting, please understand that we may process other applications for the dog. Because we have a limited amount of foster homes, we cannot hold dogs past adoption. 6. Poor Irene has been diagnosed with Cushing disease and will require cushings medication for the rest of her life. With her Cushing Irene pees alot very frequently. She needs someone that will take her out every couple hours to pee. She sometimes needs to pee in between so foster mom has xlarge size pee pads inside which  she will go on. Also the same with overnight. She can't hold it an entire night even though she is on meds. She is on 2 different kinds of meds and requires a test every couple months to make sure meds are regulated. She is so sweet and friendly. She walks perfectly on a leash. She likes to be petted and be with people. She is great with other dogs and pigs. ** LOCAL CENTRAL PA APPLICATIONS ONLY **Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Irene is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Meet Fred, a 10 year old neutered male basset hound who weighs 63 lbs. Fred was rescued by a Good Samaritan after spending his entire life outdoors wandering and being neglected by his owners. Despite a rough past, Fred is sweet as can be! He loves attention and being near people and is thankful for any kindness he's offered. Fred is easy going and gentle and seems to just go with the flow. He enjoys being outdoors and would love a home with a fenced yard where he can safely follow his nose. Fred has been great with other dogs and made fast friends with the other pup in his foster home. After a long life of neglect, we want nothing more than to see this special old guy spend his golden years being loved and pampered! When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis us alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 45# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! I am ready when you are, do your stuff so we can ride off into the sunset, in air conditioning, of course! They are all off onto their forever homes leaving momma on the road to recovery and caring about herself! Winnie is heartworm positive.
