Story
Say hello to Isaac! This unique pup ended up at the shelter as a stray, and is now ready to find his furever home. Isaac first arrived thin, dirty, and scared. He clearly did not have the best life prior. He has wanted for food and can be protective of his treats. With some patience and TLC, he is beginning to trust and show his true colors. Due to his fearful behaviors, any children in the home must be 15 and older. Isaac has a lot of potential to be a fantastic dog with the healing powers of time and love. Isaac really enjoys other dogs, and may benefit from having a canine companion to lead by example. We are not sure how he feels about cats but he is willing to try with proper introduction. Isaac is a special guy who deserves a family of his own. If you are interested in meeting Isaac, please reach out to the shelter and schedule an appointment. We may be able to accommodate a walk in meet if his handlers are available. If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared - bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Meet Licorice... the sweetest little low-rider you'll ever meet!  Some puppies are born to explore every corner of the world. Licorice is much more interested in exploring one very important place... your lap. This adorable 3-month-old Basset Hound/Lab mix weighs approximately 16 lbs and has the cutest combination of a long body, short little Basset legs, and soulful puppy eyes that are impossible to resist. Seriously... he's almost too cute. Licorice is a sweet, gentle boy who simply loves being with his people. If he had his way, he'd spend his day following you from room to room, soaking up belly rubs, curling up beside you on the couch, and reminding you that everything is better with a puppy cuddle. While he'll happily play with his toys, chew on a good bone, and romp around with his dog friends, he's a little more thoughtful and cautious as he takes in the world around him. Once he knows he's safe, his loving personality shines through. Licorice is: Great with dogs of all sizes Wonderful with people of all ages, including kids Cat introduced with little reaction (though he may decide a kitty could make a fun playmate—he is still a puppy!) Doing great with his house and crate training on a consistent schedule Up to date on vaccines and preventatives Microchipped Will need to be neutered before 7 months of age He may let out a few little puppy protests when it's time for his crate or puppy pen, but it's only because he'd much rather be snuggled up next to his favorite humans. Give him a moment, and he settles in nicely. Fostered in York, PA If you've been looking for a puppy with a gentle heart, a sweet soul, and enough cuteness to make everyone smile, Licorice is ready to become your new best friend. Those tiny little legs, that long body, and that affectionate personality are just waiting to wiggle their way right into your heart.  Apply at https://www.pack9rescue.org/applications/ LIC # 9736    We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Story
Why`d we name this lil` lady Crush? Because there is no way you aren`t going to fall head over heels! This adorable 4-month-old mixed-breed pup (our best guess is Jack Russell, Dachshund, Beagle...? Really, what does it matter, you`re already crushin`) is full of curiosity, playful energy, and puppy charm. Whether she`s zooming around the yard, tossing stuffed toys in the air, or investigating every exciting new smell, Crush approaches life with wide-eyed wonder. Once she feels safe, her silly, adventurous personality shines, and she`s always ready for another game, another snack, or another backyard adventure. She also rides beautifully in the car, gets along well with dogs of all sizes, and is respectful of cats, making her a wonderful candidate for a variety of homes.Because Crush hasn`t had a lot of early socialization, much of the world is still brand new to her. The good news? She`s not just got looks, she`s got smarts! She`s thriving with a consistent routine, is doing great with house training and crate training, and has already adjusted well to wearing a collar and leash. She`s still building confidence and hasn`t started formal obedience training yet, so she`ll be looking for a family that`s excited to continue introducing her to new people, places, and experiences at her own pace. With patience, encouragement, and lots of love, Crush is sure to blossom into a confident, happy companion who`s ready to take on life`s adventures right by your side.So it`s time for us to pass you a note in class... Do you have a crush on Crush? Story
The best things in life are worth waiting for - and Charlie is no exception. After being found abandoned in Louisiana with his littermates, at just 3 weeks old, Charlie has been taking life one brave step at a time.At about 3.5 months old, Charlie is a short-legged, long-bodied cutie with a gentle heart. New people and new situations can be very overwhelming for him, so he’s looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Once Charlie feels safe, his goofy personality starts to shine. He loves belly rubs, sniffing around the yard, snack time, and quietly hanging out with the people he loves.Charlie absolutely benefits from having another confident, well-adjusted dog around. He takes his cues from canine friends and becomes much braver when he has a buddy to show him the ropes. He’s submissive with other dogs and enjoys playing once he’s comfortable. He’s also cat-friendly - in fact, if a cat tells him to back off, he happily listens! For now, Charlie’s ideal home is a quiet, adult-only home with a secure fenced yard and at least one stable, confident dog to help him continue building confidence. His crate is his safe place, and he’s doing wonderfully with house training when kept on a consistent schedule and crated when unsupervised.Charlie isn’t looking for someone to “fix” him. He’s looking for someone who will celebrate every little victory, let him move at his own pace, and show him that the world can be a kind place. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most rewarding journeys there is - and Charlie is worth every step.Charlie is ready for the next chapter of his story - he just needs someone willing to write it with him.If you’d like to take Charlie home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. Story
Meet Nyla, a sweet 5-year-old Beagle who loves people, other animals, and plenty of attention. She enjoys squeaky toys, giving kisses, and being part of the action.Nyla is also a smart girl who knows several commands and tricks, including sit, wait, come, paw, lay down, and even spinning on her hind legs.Nyla requires daily eye drops, which she tolerates well. Like many curious Beagles, she may get into trash if it’s not secured, so a home with covered bins or limited access is best. She has occasional accidents, likely because she isn’t able to get outside as often as she needs, and would do great with a consistent potty routine.Due to an out-of-state move, we’re looking for a loving home where Nyla can get the care and attention she deserves. She’s a very affectionate dog with lots of love to give.
