Story
Dakota is a 4-year-old basset hound, beagle, and lab mix we've had since she was 8 weeks old. She is super sweet, loves to cuddle on the couch, chew hard toys, & run after a ball. Having a toddler around has made it a lot harder for us to be able to give her as much time & attention as she deserves/needs. We are facing other major hardships which brought us to this incredibly difficult decision. She survived a terrible attack from a German shepherd on 9/2023 and has 2 remaining scars. She could use more training around her food drive, counter surfing, & behavior around guests. She is crated at night & when we are away. She does play with other dogs after proper introduction but sometimes wants to play more than the other dogs do. She is not afraid of big dogs even after that incident but isn't regularly with others. She is a bit skittish, scared of strangers, thunderstorms, fireworks, and loud noises in general & looks for a dark place to hide or for snuggles.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Denise (sharpeisnchihuahuas@msn.com) for more information about this pet.Irene was dumped at the gate of a high kill shelter in WV one weekend.  She is a sweet dog that deserves a family for the rest of her years. Poor Irene has been diagnosed with Cushing disease and will require cushings medication for the rest of her life. With her Cushing Irene pees alot very frequently. She needs someone that will take her out every couple hours to pee. She sometimes needs to pee in between so foster mom has xlarge size pee pads inside which  she will go on. Also the same with overnight. She can't hold it an entire night even though she is on meds. She is on 2 different kinds of meds and requires a test every couple months to make sure meds are regulated. She is so sweet and friendly. She walks perfectly on a leash. She likes to be petted and be with people. She is great with other dogs and pigs. ** LOCAL CENTRAL PA APPLICATIONS ONLY **Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Irene is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 6:43 am

Story
Hey there! My name is Freckles, I'm a 5 year old beagle and I am looking for my forever home! I love to give kisses and snuggle! I'm trying to learn not to jump but I just love people so much! A typical beagle, I love to investigate ALL the things. My foster mom says I'm smart and curious. I learned my name in only 2 days! I adore my human foster siblings but I've had some disagreements with my doggie foster siblings. We've decided I would probably be best as the only dog in my new home so I can be queen of my castle. I currently live with 4 cats and I don't understand them, so sometimes I chase them and bark to see what they do. If my new home has cats, they would need to be dog savvy and willing to deal with my curiosity. Because I am so curious, I tend to try to dash out the door any chance I get, so I need a home with a fenced in yard and family who will be cautious when leaving without me. I walk pretty good on a leash, unless I find a fun scent and then I forget my manners and tug to follow the smell I find intriguing. I would really love a home with kids because they are my favorites. My foster mom is cool, but I cry when the kids leave for school. I know basic commands and would be willing to take classes to learn new tricks or maybe an agility course. I don't like my crate and I cry and try to break out when I'm stuck in it. I much rather sleep with my human foster sister. She let's me steal the covers and even her pillow. Overall, I pack a lot of personality into my petite body and I would love to be your new furry family member. I tested positive for lymes on intake but I've been treated. I'm UTD on vaccines, spayed, chipped and ready for my forever family! If you think that could be you, please visit zoeshouserescue.com to apply. *Please note, only apps submitted through our site are received and reviewed. Do not apply through 3rd party sites like Petfinder. Zoe's House Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608
