Scout may be short one leg, but that sure doesn't slow him down! He's friendly and ready to go on any adventure his family can take him on! He's about 3 years old and the perfect size to be a ride-along buddy! He loves to use that cute nose of his just like his breed is meant to do! When Scout arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed' game, and the most guesses were that he is a Beagle mix, but I know that's just a guess! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Jelly Roll (JR), male, is a very sweet, loveable mix beagle/ terrier -don't know the breed of terrier -No long beagle floppy ears but the personality & behaviors of the beagle breed. He is 6 yrs old, 45 lbs, striking black & white coat, big personality and extra cuddly-he loves those belly rubs; neutered, microchipped, current on all required shots, not a barker; housebroken. Adopted Feb 2026 from shelter. Unfortunate, at 83 years old, owner now experiencing some severe health problems; often in need of emergency care; feels it is only fair to JR to find a more stable loving family with children to play and love him. JR is not able to run and play at will where he lives now in apartment setting. JR was born with a collapsed trachea. 2 vets states he will be fine as long as he wears a harness vs. collar. All pet accessories provided to include bed, food, toys, doggie gate,etc. On weight management program -38 lbs. goal with vet. Have food for approx 2 months. Will provide all records.

Story
Penny is a five-year-old athletic beagle who is sweet as pie, loves a good cuddle, and has never met a stranger. She is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, comfortable being left alone, and will be up to date on vaccinations. She does well with children and other dogs, including her two Border Collie “siblings,” and knows sit, down, roll over, wait, and release. Her recall is still a work in progress. Penny is also a talented escape artist. Because we live in a mountaintop neighborhood with HOA fencing restrictions, nearby 50–80-foot cliffs, heavy traffic, and confirmed coyotes and bobcats, we no longer feel we can keep her safely contained. Despite wire-lined fencing and a picket-protector harness, she continues to find a way out. Penny would thrive with a cat-free family, a large secure yard with solid fencing, or an experienced beagle owner who can provide safe outdoor time, GPS tracking, and recall training. We are rehoming her only out of love and concern for her safety.
