Story
Meet our beautiful purebred female Beagle "Daisy Mae" :) She was found on the bones; you were able to see all her bones/ribs. She has recovered :) She has been under our Wellness program and is in great condition now and ready for her forever home. Daisy Mae is currently being raised around a large group of dogs, including a blind dog; which she learned very quickly she is blind and respects her space. She is very special and will make a great companion. She is calm; when needed, not the typical howling or barker Beagle. However she will bark when others do. She is so funny; she has her binky blanket and loves to be wrapped around it:) Daisy Loves to ride in the car and will make a great addition to any home who will offer her a forever home so she will never be hurt again. She is crate trained and loves her crate because she knows she will get a treat. She can stay calmly in there with her treat and toys. She loves to play tag of war - and loves any toys and the ball. She can make a great family addition or be a solo companion as well. Daisy is healthy, vaccinated, and has been spayed:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? Please text at 619-576-0747 or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . Story
Meet Kanploo! DOB: January 2024Weight: 42 lbsDisposition: Outgiong, Confident, Playful Kanploo is a confident, friendly dog who is excited to approach visitors and will follow them readily. Kanploo is good with other dogs and loves to play! He walks confidently outside his play area walking on leash, including in busyand noisy areas. He walks past other dogs and strangers with ease. He likes to explore the surroundings calmly and confidently. He is not into tennis balls but likes his rope toys.History: Kanploo was three months old when he arrived at Soi Dog Foundation’s hospital in April 2024 after being involved in a road traffic accident. Upon examination by the vet, Kanploo had a hernia and fractures in his left femur and pubic bone that would require surgery. Under the supportive care of the nursing staff, Kanploo would recover from surgery and is completely weight bearing though he has an uneven gait on his left hind limb without signs of pain. Some dogs are happy to stay home. Kanploo is happiest discovering what's around the next bend in the trail. If you've been looking for a dog who is always ready for an adventure, meet Kanploo—a handsome Beagle/Jindo mix with a heart as big as the outdoors. At just 42 pounds, he's the perfect size to be your hiking partner, weekend explorer, road trip companion, and best friend.Kanploo is everything you'd hope for in an adventure buddy:🐾 Outgoing and confident🐾 Loves people and other dogs🐾 Walks beautifully on leash🐾 Comfortable in busy, noisy environments🐾 Curious, playful, and always ready to explore🐾 Rope toys are his favorite!Kanploo's journey hasn't always been easy. When he was only three months old, he was rescued by the Soi Dog Foundation after being struck by a car in Thailand. He underwent surgery to repair fractures and a hernia, and thanks to the incredible veterinary team and months of loving care, he made a remarkable recovery.Today, Kanploo is fully weight-bearing, pain-free, and doesn't let his slight hitch in his step slow him down for a second. His past is simply part of his story—not what defines him. What defines Kanploo is his joyful spirit, his confidence, and his excitement for every new adventure. If your perfect weekend includes hiking a trail, exploring somewhere new, or simply having an amazing dog by your side, Kanploo is ready to go.If you're interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. Story
Hopper is a goofy, affectionate Beagle puppy. He loves people, adores other dogs, and is always ready for an adventure. He is fully potty trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, and is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and highly treat motivated. He has lots of energy and would make the perfect hiking or running buddy for an active home. As a puppy, Hopper is still learning impulse control and can become quite mouthy when excited or overstimulated. He needs an adults-only home with experienced adopters who understand puppy behavior and are committed to continuing his training with patience and positive reinforcement. A home with another dog and a securely fenced yard would be ideal. Rehoming him is heartbreaking, but due to my increased work hours and living in an apartment, I can no longer provide the time, exercise, and environment he deserves. Our priority is finding Hopper the best possible match, we want to ensure he goes to a family that will give him the best life.

Story
Buddy is a Courtesy Post only and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to this dog. You must contact his foster dad, RJ Casey at 949-701-7755 (call or text) My name is Buddy, I’m about 1½ years old, around 40 lbs, and I'm told I'm a Beagle/Boxer mix — which basically means I'm equal parts playful goofball and loyal cuddlebug.  I get along great with other dogs, I'm house-trained, and I even know how to use a doggie door (yes, l've got my diploma in "Good Boy Basics"). My short, sleek coat means I hardly shed - less vacuuming, more belly rubs. I'm also vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to join my forever family. As for my personality? Think of me as the perfect coffee blend: not too strong, not too mild, just right. I'm chill when you want peace and silly when you need a laugh. Basically, I'm the kind of guy who fits right in anywhere. If you're looking for a best friend who's loyal, fun, and easy to love - I'm your Buddy. Message them to meet me — I can't wait to be your new best friend.   Buddy is available to meet in the San Diego area. For further information or to meet Buddy, please contact his foster dad, RJ Casey at 949-701-7755 (call or text)March 7, 2026, 5:42 pm

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. Meet Poppy! Poppy is a 4-year-old, 29-pound Beagle/Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! This sweet, affectionate girl is looking for a forever home where she can be part of the family and share her joyful personality. Poppy loves people and gets along wonderfully with women, men, and children of all ages. She is also friendly with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. While she hasn't been around cats, her easygoing nature shines through in most situations. An active and playful girl, Poppy loves going for walks, playing fetch, and chasing tennis balls (or really any ball she can find!). She would be thrilled to join an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures and playtime. After she's had her fun, she's more than happy to curl up next to her favorite person for some cuddles. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate with no objections, but would be fine sleeping with her human too. Your choice.  Poppy knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay" and responds well. She may benefit from a little additional training, but she's eager to please and learns quickly. She can be sensitive to sudden noises and may startle easily, so she'll do best with a patient family who can help build her confidence. One of Poppy's most endearing qualities is how quickly she bonds with her people. She'll be shy for the first day or two, but then you can literally see the changes in her as she begins to feel comfortable and transforms into a super loving and playful dog.  She's incredibly loyal, loves affection, and adapts well to new environments. When someone comes home, she'll happily announce their arrival with a few barks before settling right back down once she realizes it's a friend. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic companion who loves adventures, cuddles, and being by your side, Poppy may be the perfect match for you. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all her vaccines.  Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  August 20, 2026, 6:44 pm
