Her name is Charisma. One of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet, but very hyper/anxious. She likes to cuddle in bed at night and hog a lot of the space. She needs a big yard for her to run around mindlessly and exert her energy. She is crate trained and potty trained but will have accidents on occasion in new areas/if not tended to quickly enough. She’s not much of a chewer, rarely chews on furniture or shoes or etc, but has happened before out of boredom. She’s a lot to deal with but she also gives intense amounts of love and affection.

I adopted Buddy about two years ago before my daughter went to college. At the shelter where we adopted him he was very calm, sitting patiently in his pen. We were looking for a low energy dog as I am getting older and mobility is an issue. About three days after we adopted him he was in the hospital in intensive care with a significant respiratory illness, that is why he was low energy. Since getting healthy he is not the couch potato i was looking for. His activity level is average but just not what I can do. I think he would be much happier in a household with children and just more going on. He’s a very good boy very food motivated and very sweet. I want the best life for him.He loves to play with other dogs but his brother is an old man who just sleeps. He would love a play mate! I have had him around little kids so I can’t confidently say he’s great with them. However he has never been aggressive at all with anything or anyone . He is also not a barley dog. He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is still a work in progress, but improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty is heartworm positive but scheduled for treatment in Louisiana mid-March. He is healthy and asymptomatic so we expect him to do well. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bruce is a devoted little pup who came to us skinny and fearful. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he'll follow you around the house and even snuggle with you wanting ear scratches and belly rubs.  Overall his avtivity level is pretty moderate, but every now and then he has bursts of energy and gets the zoomies. He is fine with cats but we believe he really needs another dog as companion as they help his confidence a lot. Bruce is fluent with a doggie door and will spend a good bit of his day sniffing around in the backyard -- especially if he has doggie company. He can still be timid with new people and sensitive to loud noises and fast movements. Patience and gentleness are the key to his trust -- especially with men as he seems to prefer women. He suffered through some persistent GI issues due to poor nutrition and intestinal parasites which we have finally cleared. He will need continued dietary support with a good quality diet and supplementation. Bruce's foster mom has been crating him when she's away and he's comfortable in the crate for a couple hours, but will do much better with a family who does not have to leave him alone very much. He sleeps on her bed at night. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGSlick gives true meaning to the words 'cuddle bug'. He LOVES people and when he is being snuggled in your lap he shows his appreciation with cute little grunting noises. He also likes to give kisses.  When he greets new people he immediately rolls over for belly rubs. With children he is especially gentle and well mannered. In his foster home he appears to be completely housetrained. He’s been crated at times during the day for up to 3 hours and currently sleeps in his crate at night... but given his love of cuddling, he would probably prefer to be bedding down next to his people. Slick is very mellow in the house and enjoys window watching from a perch on the back of the sofa. Outside he likes exploring as much as any beagle - he is curious about prey but not driven and walks well on a leash.  If Slick can find a forever family who will shower him with love and affection, he will be more than willing to reciprocate! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGBootsie has absolutely delighted her foster mom with how easily she has adjusted, how well she is getting along with her other dog and how loving and affectionate she is. When Bootsie is especially happy or excited she makes cute little whines. Her personality is gentle and submissive, and when meeting new people she greets them happily, wagging her tail and wants to lick their hands. Bootsie was surrendered to a Louisiana shelter along with Lolly, also available for adoption. Squirrels and rabbits do not interest Bootsie, but she will chase cats when they run. She has been 100% housebroken from the day she arrived. She had to learn to go on a leash and showed her foster mom that she can hold it for a very long time. Bootsie is currently allowed to sleep in bed at night with foster mom and the other dog. She is a low energy dog but does not like to be left alone. When foster mom does goes out for a few hours, Bootsie is crated but she does vocalize her discontent with the situation. Bootsie very much enjoys her walks and a good roll in the grass. As is typical for a beagle, she will pull a little to get to places she really wants to smell.
