Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Banjo is a very affectionate boy and a really great cuddler! His foster mom often allows him to sleep in bed with her, but he likes the couch too. He's a fairly mellow fellow and does rest a lot. His foster mom thinks he’s aging backwards and he’s getting more brown in his face.  We are so happy to share that he does NOT have heart issues as we initially suspected! His heart is good and strong but he does have early stage kidney disease and is on a special diet. Banjo Is also currently dealing with some incontinence but is a good sport about wearing his diaper. He really enjoys his walks, typical beagle with nose to the ground smelling everything! Banjo can be excited when first meeting another dog and can also be selective about who he likes. We think he would do best as an only dog but he would probably love a cat as a buddy. He also prefers not to be left alone for very long.  Banjo is looking for someone with a heart for seniors. He could go on sleepover anytime! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 10:38 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Snoop is a friendly, joyful dog, and so lovable! When he arrived in Florida despite finding himself in a strange environment, he was immediately happy to greet his foster mom. He has been that way with all the people we have seen him meet. He does not jump up or get carried away; he's just eager to greet the new person and let them love on him. He very much enjoys being petted and his coat is like velvet, and he doesn't mind being snuggled in your lap either. Snoop has been very accepting of the other dogs in his foster home and the dogs that have visited. He shows signs of wanting to play but the senior dogs in his foster home were not interested. His interactions with the cats was a little questionable. With the older cat, Snoop minded his manners. However at first the the younger cat was a frequent temptation to chase and bark at. After a few days he seemed to be more laid back with both cats. House training is coming along but he’s not making straight As yet, and walking on the leash is still a learning opportunity. Snoop is currently fed in his crate and is a typical beagle about food. He would eat any other dog’s food if it was available, but he is not at all aggressive. He does enjoy his toys but seems to be drawn to chewing on cardboard boxes. He is content to hang out at home, but his true joy is running free at the dog park on in the back yard. He would thrive in a family with a lot of activity and room to run as his energy level is probably slightly above moderate. Snoop is heartworm positive and treatment is scheduled. He will be ready for a sleepover mid-May provided his family can observevthe post treatment requirements.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2026, 10:28 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bruce will let you sleep late!  He lets his foster mom stay in bed until 9 am on the weekends. When he finally wakes up, he wants ear scratches and belly rubs.  Overall his avtivity level is pretty moderate, but every now and then he has bursts of energy and gets the zoomies.  Bruce really loves being with other dogs and they help his confidence a lot. In his foster home he plays Security Chief, keeping tabs on what's going on outside. He is fluent with the doggie door and goes out to sniff around in the backyard. He could use a little leash training. Bruce came to us skinny and fearful and he can still be timid and sensitive to loud noises, fast movements, and new people. Patience and gentleness are the key to his trust. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he'll follow you around the house and even snuggle with you. His foster mom has been crating him when she's away and she lets him sleep on the foot of the bed.  He's quite comfortable in the crate for several hours at a time. Bruce tested positive for heartworms, but has gone through treatment and is doing well. He is housebroken and is anxiously awaiting a sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2026, 10:28 pm

Story
We can’t believe this handsome, sweet boy Bowie is still waiting for his forever family! This beautiful soul has been with SBR for several months, and everyone who meets him falls in love. Bowie is a recently retired breeder dog who’s finally getting his chance at the good life. Surrendered to SBR, he’s only just beginning his journey toward becoming a cherished family member. He’s in excellent health, full of spunk, and has energy to spare—this boy is ready to enjoy life. Like many dogs coming from a breeding environment, Bowie can be a little shy and unsure of the big world outside a kennel. But every day, his foster dad sees more and more of his wonderful personality shining through. With time to decompress and feel safe, he continues to blossom into the sweet, goofy, and loving boy he truly is. Bowie’s ideal forever home will have another friendly dog to help guide him and give him confidence. A fenced-in yard is also a must—he loves exploring safely and having space to run and play. Bowie has now completed his wellness check and neuter, and he is fully cleared for adoption. This sweet boy is officially ready to find his perfect forever home, where he can enjoy the comfort, love, and belly rubs he’s been waiting for.

Story
Meet Roscoe! This gorgeous boy is estimated to be around 3–5 years old, and he not only has the looks, he has the sweetest personality too. Roscoe was found as a stray and ended up in a county shelter before Suncoast Basset Rescue got the call to help. While we are not exactly sure of his age, Roscoe definitely seems to be on the younger side. His teeth are in great shape, and he appears to be healthy and well cared for overall. Even better, he is a very good boy — well behaved, rides nicely in the car, and gets along well with kids and other dogs. At this time, we are not sure how he does with cats. Roscoe is handsome, sweet, and already showing everyone what a wonderful companion he is.
