Her name is Charisma. One of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet, but very hyper/anxious. She likes to cuddle in bed at night and hog a lot of the space. She needs a big yard for her to run around mindlessly and exert her energy. She is crate trained and potty trained but will have accidents on occasion in new areas/if not tended to quickly enough. She’s not much of a chewer, rarely chews on furniture or shoes or etc, but has happened before out of boredom. She’s a lot to deal with but she also gives intense amounts of love and affection.

He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty was treated for heartworm in March. Dani has the softest, most gentle eyes and, paired with her big beagle ears, it is almost too much cuteness for such a small dog. She very much appreciates affection but, in an unfamiliar environment and meeting new people, she is very submissive and will need reassurance. Her 'pancaking' (flattening herself to the ground), is her conditioned response to people approaching her and she may whine a lot in the beginning. This was observed by her foster parents but it did not take long for her to learn that she was safe and was going to be treated with kindness. She is currently in a foster home with an older male dog, and Dani is friendly but very docile towards him as well. When foster mom and dad are showing affection to the other dog, Dani can get just a little pushy for her share, but only a little. Dani is also very food motivated, so she and the other dog are fed separately. At night she sleeps either on the couch, the bed or in a dog bed. She does like to snuggle and cuddle for a while, but eventually moves away. She appears to be mostly house trained, especially once the family became more familiar with her signals. She is fine outside but doesn't seem to thrive on it like some beagles, and her prey drive seems pretty much non-existent. Her leash walking skills are moderately good and she pays no mind to other dogs on walks. Dani's foster parents work outside the home so they initially crated her when they were gone. She seemed to tolerate it well and showed no anxiety at their leaving, so they tried leaving her out of the crate and it went fine. Both dogs are now routinely left at home alone together with free roam. Video cameras show them both just lounging on the couch. However, the family is always careful to make sure there is no food she can get to -- including cabinets. When they return home Dani makes happy little grunts and squeaks. A home with a calm environment where she receives regular affection would be her best fit. She’s very precious, and there’s a soft, peaceful soul in her. She is also very good with other dogs, both male and female, and gentle with cats. One cat she met bopped her on the nose and Colleen just rolled over on her back. :) She was seen being dumped from a car, but fortunately she was rescued and taken to a very good shelter. She has now settled in well in her Florida foster home. She has a moderate to low energy level, will occasionally play with toys and sometimeswith other dogs. Although she likes her food, she is not super food motivated and a little crazy like some beagles can be. She also walks well on leash. Colleen will make someone the most calm, serene and loving companion. She tested positive for heartworms but has completed her treatment and ready for a sleepover.
