When she first arrived she was shy and unsure, but with time, patience, and gentle reassurance, Darla has truly blossomed and her sweet personality now shines through. She still may take a little time to warm up and has shown preference for women over men at first, but once you've earned her trust she'll be your best bud. She now adores her foster dad and even gives him little hand licks to express her love! Darla is great with kids and loves other dogs. In fact, having canine friends around seems to help her feel more confident so a home with another dog would be welcomed. Darla  needs to be in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can safely explore and sniff to her heart's content. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Brucie is a smart boy, very intelligent. He loves his food, and also some chicken and CHEESE, thats his favorite. He's great with other dogs but very shy with humans. In his foster home, he observes the other dogs getting affection, and then he comes up slowly asking for love too. Hes not really a cuddler yet, only sometimes, but that could change over time. When Brucie gets his bursts of energy he will play with toys and run around with the other dogs and play fight with them - and he loves the dog park! Brucie listens to commands and is good when walking on a leash, but likes to walk behind the other dogs. He loves to sleep on his bed and the couch, and only gets on foster mom's bed if he sees the other dogs do it. Brucie needs to continue to gain confidence and clearly other dogs definitely need to be part of his learning process. He is heartworm positive but going through his treatment right now. Unfortunately that means no trips to the dog park for a while. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Banjo is a very affectionate boy and a really great cuddler! His foster mom often allows him to sleep in bed with her, but he likes the couch too. He's a fairly mellow fellow and does rest a lot. His foster mom thinks he’s aging backwards and he’s getting more brown in his face.  We are so happy to share that he does NOT have heart issues as we initially suspected! His heart is good and strong but he does have early stage kidney disease and is on a special diet. Banjo Is also currently dealing with some incontinence but is a good sport about wearing his diaper. He really enjoys his walks, typical beagle with nose to the ground smelling everything! Banjo can be excited when first meeting another dog and can also be selective about who he likes. We think he would do best as an only dog but he would probably love a cat as a buddy. He also prefers not to be left alone for very long.  Banjo is looking for someone with a heart for seniors.
