Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Matty's personality is all beagle! He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty was treated for heartworm in March. He is healthy and asymptomatic so we expect him to do well.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susanna is a happy, energetic girl who really makes a connection with her human. She looks her foster dad right in the eyes everytime she sees him. Susanna is great with all his other dogs. She will play with any and all, is submissive and avoids confrontation. We aren't sure about cats but don't really notice a prey drive with squirrels or rabbits. Susanna has only been in her foster home a week at this writing, but she is doing excellent with housetraining. Her foster dad allows her to sleep in the bed with him at night and she sleeps right by his head. He says she greets him softly every morning when they wake up. She does not like the crate at all when he is home, but when he goes to work she goes into her crate for treats and handles it well for up to 5 to 6 hours. Susanna loves playing with toys and is a heavy chewer. She enjoys a variety of Nylabones. She does not resource guard her toys and will even offer to include another dog in playing with the toy. She is VERY food motivated - not aggressive at all, just loves food ...a lot! So foster dad is helping her learn some manners. Susanna is affectionate and happy to cuddle up for naps or 'chill' time. At first she wanted only to be with her human all the time, but as she has settled in she has become comfortable spending more time outside with the other dogs when dad is home but inside. Susanna's best feature is not her leash walking and we really recommend a fenced yard for her. She has a lot of energy and will need a family who can provide outlets for that. Blessedly, Susanna is heartworm negative and is ready to go on sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGAutumn loves people! Her favorite activity is standing next to you while you pat her sweet little head. Once she’s done with that and feels sufficiently secure, she will go play with her toys or take a nap. Autumn came fully housebroken and has recently been spayed. She gets along fine with other dogs, but so far doesn’t really play with them much. She loves exploring the backyard in her foster home and learned the doggie door on day 1. She also loves it when other people come over…more attention and more petting! She is a little mischievous and has been known to steal socks or relocate the odd flip flop from the closet to the kitchen, but she’s not destructive. Autumn has been sleeping either in her crate at night or on a doggie bed right next to the bed... where the occupant of the bed can give her an occasional scratch on the head before she sacks out. She also has her meals in her crate as our shelter contact said she had been very protective of her food there. She does fine on a leash, but has the usual beagle tendency to do zigzags, sniffing left and right, then back, then forward, then repeat. Autumn is heartworm negative and is ready to go on a sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buster is an amazing senior beagle who acts much younger than his age. He is housebroken, shows no food aggression, and has not needed to be crated when left at home alone. He is also very quiet and has only been heard barking a couple of times. He would be fine with someone working outside the home full time. Buster could live with or without other dogs. While he doesn't actively play with other hounds in his foster home, he happily joins them at the fence line to greet neighbors. When Buster was fostered in Alabama we learned that he did well with cats and children -- he was with a 9-year-old and a 2-year-old who were good to respect his space. He loves walking and does not require a fenced yard as long as he gets several daily walks. He enjoys rolling in the grass, getting belly rubs, and playing a game of throwing his beef sticks in the air. He sleeps wherever he likes and loves to snuggle in. Buster is heartworm positive and should be ready for a sleepover the first week of August.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGHushpuppy is a people magnet! He is so cute everyone who meets him just has to love on him ...and he's fine with that! He loves meeting new people. His foster mom says he likes to be near her and will lie beside her on the couch and bury his nose between her and the cushions. When he first arrived in his foster home, Hushpuppy was a little timid. At first, he was hesitant to explore much outside. We are aware that he came to the shelter from an owner who kept him and his brothers in pretty horrible conditions in an outdoor penned area. Also, he may not have had much experience with toys, but he is just starting to enjoy them. Hushpuppy has been friendly with the other dogs he’s met and also does fine with the cat, but he does want to go after rabbits! He’s not hugely food motivated, unless its the cat food. Housetraining is going very well with only a couple of accidents in the house. Hushpuppy does not really like the crate, but when his foster mom goes to work and leaves him at home alone with her other dog, they both have free roam, and Hushpuppy has not gotten into any mischief. At night he LOVES sleeping in the bed with foster mom and the other dog. He is not leash walked much in his foster home but he seems to do fine a few times he has gone to the vet. We think he would do best in a home that has a calm environment and where he can get lots of affection. He is a joy to have around! Hushpuppy is heartworm positive, his treatment has been scheduled, and as long as post treatment requirements can be met, he should be ready for a sleepover the weekend of August 21st.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peaches was a homeless beagle in an Alabama shelter. She looked sad and very skinny in her picture and we can tell that she was most likely used for breeding and has had many litters. She has put on some weight but we'd like her to put on a little more. There's no problem there because Peaches loves food and does a happy dance at every eating occasion. (Please see video below.) The couch is her favorite place to sleep and her foster mom loves to hear her snore. Other dogs really make peaches happy and she has done really great with the other dog in her foster home. They play well together and Peaches is very good at sharing her toys. We'd very much hope for another dog in her forever home. We don't know how about cats but she does not seem to have any prey drive. She does enjoy meeting new people but can still be a little nervous and crouch down when they reach for her. Her foster mom had an opportunity to see her interact with children in the age range of 5 to 8. She was a bit nervous at the beginning but she loved the pats from them. Peaches is very good on leash and is currently making a B+ in house training. Her foster mom has has rarely crated and only for about an hour with the door shut, but when they need to leave her alone she does fine in the kitchen behind a baby gate. She has her daily zoomies but otherwise Peaches has a pretty chill energy level. She does love to be outside and is confident and curious to explore. Peaches is heartworm positive and her treatment will be scheduled sometime the first week of September, so she will be ready for sleepover the second week.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 6:55 pm
