Tommy Pickles  At about 1.5 years old, Tommy Pickles is the sweetest mixed-breed boy you’ll ever meet. He’s smart, gentle, and a total cuddle lover once he knows you’re safe. He can be a little shy at first, but give him a minute (and maybe a treat or two) and you’ll see his affectionate, loyal heart shine through.   Tommy absolutely loves other dogs and really blossoms with a confident canine buddy by his side. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and working hard on perfecting his leash skills like the good boy he is.   He’d thrive in an active family with another playful pup to help show him the world isn’t so scary and encourage him to come out of his shell. With a little patience and a lot of love, Tommy Pickles will be the most devoted best friend you could ask for.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Tommy Pickles’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. He is a 5 year old Beagle/Bully Breed mix who loves snuggles, kisses, walks, belly rubs, and stuffed toys! He is crate trained, house broken, has great leash manners, gets along with the 3 other dogs in his foster home, and is okay with cats. Sid also has very strong Beagle instincts and loves to use his nose! His foster has been working with him on scent work basics and he has a ball! I am available through HSMO`s Foster-to-Adopt program! I am being treated for heartworm disease, and because the treatment can take a few months, I am able to continue my treatment in your home, rather than stay in the shelter during that time. Once my treatment is over, we can finalize the adoption, making me a permanent member of your family. HSMO will provide all the food, medication, and veterinary care during the foster period, and the staff at HSMO is happy to answer any questions you might have about heartworms. You will need to bring me to the HSMO shelter to see the veterinarian as needed, and to avoid complications from the treatment, I need to be kept as quiet as possible. That means no rough housing or playing hard with people or other pets. I will need to be on leash outside at all times and can only take short, 15-minute walks three to four times a day. However, the good news is that once my treatment is over, I can run and play and be silly again!
