Diamond is a playful, high-energy girl who loves to stay busy—especially if it involves running around, digging, and playing with other dogs. She does fantastic in our free-roam pack and gets along wonderfully with all the dogs, making her a great fit for a home with canine friends. She also adores people and will happily shower her favorite humans with cuddles, kisses, and tail wags. She’s especially comfortable with women and kids and has done great with them, though she can be a little unsure around men at first and may need a gentle, patient introduction. Diamond did amazing in her temporary foster home and showed what a well-mannered house pup she can be—she had no accidents indoors and slept great in her crate overnight. She’s a smart, happy girl who thrives with attention, playtime, and love. One more adorable quirk: Diamond thinks the outside is the best place for everything. Shoes, blankets, toys, cushions—you name it, she’ll proudly try to relocate it outdoors like it’s her personal mission. It’s part of her goofy charm and will definitely keep you laughing. We do not arrange transport, and you will be responsible for coming to us to get your dog. She is close to 18 to 24 months old and weighs a bit over 15 lbs. She was very nervous when she first came to her foster home, but it didn’t take her long to fall in love with her foster mom. For quite some time she was very hesitant to have anything to do with her foster dad or visitors, but she has begun to warm up. We suspect she will always prefer the lady of the house. She gets along fine with other dogs and has a favorite foster sister. She quickly learned about the doggy door in her foster home. She readily accepts her lead and loves to go on walks. She loves to cuddle with mom and is always ready for a belly rub. She is spayed and fully vaccinated. Located in Salem, IL, her adoption fee is $275.

Penelope has come such a long way since joining our home and continues to impress us every day. She is a fun, loving, and loyal companion who adores playtime, especially fetch and hide-n-seek. She sleeps in her fluffy bed all night, loves her bedtime routine, and has had no accidents. She also sleeps in the same room as our 9-year-old every night, which has been incredibly sweet to watch. She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is making great progress. She can be reactive to other dogs and squirrels, but with consistency, calm handling, and treats, she is able to break away and refocus. She is smart, eager to learn, and very responsive to positive reinforcement. She is friendly and affectionate, though she can be cautious around small children and tall men at first. Penelope communicates clearly when she needs space and warms up beautifully with time and treats. We believe she would truly thrive with a larger yard and a confident handler who can support her in reactive moments.
