Name: Roscoe Gender: Neutered Male Breed Guess: Beagle Mix Age: 8 years old Weight Guess: 55 pounds Adoption fee: $150 Am I good with: Kids: 12+ Cats: Yes Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required About me: Hey there, I'm Roscoe, an easy going 8-year-old Beagle Mix with a nose for adventure and a love for sunshine. My dream home has a securely fenced in yard where I can soak up the rays and sniff to my heart's content, or a home that can provide a daily walk (I need to lose weight). When I'm not exploring, you'll find me curled up on the coach for a cozy senior nap (with maybe a gentle belly rub or two). I'm ready to spend my golden years in a loving home where I can lounge in the sun, stretch my legs on walks, and share plenty of quiet cuddles. I've been at the ARP since 4/21/25 and am currently at the rescue. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Name: Allen Breed: Beagle Age: 4 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: Approximately 25 pounds Adoption fee: $350 Am I good with: Children: 12+ Cats: Will test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Hi, I'm Allen. I know, I sound like a serious guy, and right now, I kind of am. The shelter life has been tough on me, and I've gone a bit quiet as I try to figure it all out. I'm a gentle soul who's feeling a little lost, but I haven't given up. I just need someone who is patient, kind, and willing to help me rediscover the world, and myself. With time and love, I believe I can be so much more than the shy pup you see today. I may be down, but I'm not out... I'm just waiting for my person to help bring me back to life. I've been at the ARP since 7/6/25 and I'm currently located at the rescue. Name: Whimsical Breed Guess: Beagle/Husky/Terrier Mix Gender: Neutered Male Age: 2 years old Weight Guess: 35 pounds Children: 12 years and up Cats: No Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $150 Hi, I'm Whimsical! I'm a 2 year old beagle, husky, and terrier mix (DNA tested!) with a playful heart and a curious spirit. I’m about 35 pounds, the perfect size for adventures! It takes me a little time to warm up to adult men, but once I do, I’m all in for playtime and belly rubs. I’ve been in a loving foster home since I was a young pup, living with three other dogs, a guinea pig, and a lovebird! I haven’t really interacted with the smaller animals, but I’m not aggressive toward them. I would be best in a home without cats though. My best buddy is Rylee the golden retriever, we have so much fun together! I’m a social pup who loves to play, but I’m still learning my manners like not jumping up when I get too excited. I'm house-trained, know basic commands like "sit" and "come," and I’m very smart and observant. I’d do best with a family or an individual (older kids are great!) who can spend time walking, playing, and continuing my training. I’ve got so much love to give, I just need a patient, dedicated home where I can keep learning and growing. If you think I could be the missing piece to your family, please apply to meet me!
