You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Benny is looking for a special home.  This sweet handsome boy is 11 years young. He’s got pep in his step and flap in his giant ears. However, it is very clear that he has been through some trauma in the last few years, which has resulted in resource guarding behavior around food-related items. He also sometimes needs his space and requires that his people pet him only when he asks for attention.  The good news? He shows none of this behavior toward other dogs and his triggers can be managed with some careful set-up of his environment. The better news? Benny has been working on learning new behaviors with the help of a professional trainer. He will continue to need reinforcement of these new behaviors in his new home.  Benny needs to go to a home with adults only. Not because he doesn’t like kids, but because kids have a harder time with following the systems required to keep everyone safe. He would be happy with or without furry siblings and has lived with dogs, a cat, and a rabbit.  Do you have room in your heart and your house for an older gentleman who wants nothing more than a walk, a snack, and a nap? Can you modify the environment so that no food or food-adjacent trash is accessible to a determined beagle nose? Can you resist petting these big old ears unless requested? Hi, my name is Charlie. I'm a 4 year old, 48 pound beagle! I could stand to lose a few pounds, but I am solid! I was rescued from a place where I wasn't treated very good. A nice young lady contacted Project Hope to see if they would take me. Now I'm safe in my foster home and I'm ready to find my furever home where I will be treated good!My foster mom said I'm what you call a counter surfer, but I can't help it. It smelled so good, and I am a beagle with a good smeller, but I listen when she says off! I am very good when you are eating your meal. I just lay down and sleep until you are done eating!I get along with all dogs and cats. I would be good with children. I'm not a big barker. I like going for walks, and going for rides in the car. I do zoomies once in awhile, A fenced in yard is required since I like to follow my nose. I like being with my person and getting belly rubs and laying beside them when they watch TV. I don't like being crated, but I do settle down, but I'm good not being crated. I'm doing good on potty training. Jett is a happy, bouncy, 2 yr old boy who loves to play with toys, zoom around recklessly, sit for belly rubs, and snuggle for naps. Jett weights 22 lbs. He may need a little extra time to get used to new things but once he does, nothing can stop him! Making new friends with humans and other pets both big and small is very exciting for him. He would do well in a home with another dog and a fenced in yard to explore. Jett will not entering training.
