Story
MUGSY 5 years Attributes Dog Friendly Good on car rides Medium energy Playful Snuggly House trained Will potty on leash Hi there, I'm Mugsy! For most of my life, I didn't know what it felt like to be free. I spent my days on a chain, dreaming about running, playing, and just being part of a family. But those days are behind me now — and wow, life is so good! I'm a lean, athletic guy with muscles to match my big heart. These days, I'm loving every bit of my new indoor life — soft beds, yummy food, toys galore, and a warm place to rest my head. I can't get enough of my squeaky toys, chew bones, and chasing after balls. Back scratches? Yes, please. Belly rubs? Don't stop! I also love being outside — rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and going for walks. I enjoy hanging out with my foster mom (she says I'm quite the sweetheart), but I also get along well with most other dogs. I'm still learning to share all these wonderful new things I never had before, so sometimes I can be a little protective of my toys or people. I'm working on it, I promise. What I really want is a home where I can get lots of love, attention, and exercise — somewhere I can finally feel safe, play to my heart's content, and just belong. I also would be a wonderful running or hiking buddy. If you're looking for a loyal, fun, active and loving companion who's ready to start his best chapter yet... I think we might be a perfect match! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

JAKE 5 months Attributes Working on housetraining Snuggly Will potty on leash Playful Dog friendly Good with kids over age of 4 Hi there! My name is Jake and I'm a Beagle/Basset Hound mix — that means I've got the perfect combo of floppy ears, soulful eyes, and a nose that loves to explore! I currently weigh about 25 pounds, but I'm still growing into my big paws. I'm a happy, curious pup who lives for playtime. Give me a ball, a squeaky toy, or a good chew toy, and I'll be one very busy (and very joyful) little guy. I also love zooming around the yard and wrestling with my brother — we have the best time! Oh, and if you turn on the hose - Get ready for a show! I'll bark, chase, and try to catch the water stream like it's my greatest mission in life. Meal time is my absolute favorite time of day (I mean, who doesn't love food?), and I'll wag my tail like crazy when I know it's time to eat. After all that excitement, I love curling up close to my humans for some snuggles. I'm friendly with other dogs, too, and I'd be so happy to have furry friends to romp around with. I'm looking for a loving home where I can get plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles — and maybe a yard to run around in too! If you're ready for a loyal, silly, and affectionate puppy to join your family, I think we could be the perfect match. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.

Story
MAISIE 4 months Attributes Good w/dogs Crate trained Working on housetraining Maisie may be the runt of the litter, but don’t let her size fool you — this 4-month-old, 16-pound Beagle/Basset mix has a big personality packed into her little body! She’s the feisty, talkative little sister who absolutely loves being the center of attention. Maisie has a huge heart for people and gets along well with other dogs, greeting everyone she meets with tail wags and puppy energy. She’s already making great progress with her training — she’s crate trained and nearly house trained, with only an occasional accident. Maisie is still learning how to walk on a leash and ride comfortably in the car, but with patience and consistency she’ll catch on quickly. Like any curious puppy, she has a mischievous streak (trash and wrappers are her weakness!) but she has shown wonderful manners with personal belongings and happily sticks to her toys. Maisie will thrive in a home that offers structure, guidance, and lots of love. Whether it’s a house with a fenced yard or an apartment with plenty of walks and playtime, she’ll bring endless joy, affection, and puppy antics to her forever family. Maisie is ready to share her love and brighten the life of whoever is lucky enough to call her theirs. Could that be you?
