Story
Tim McGraw is a sweet senior beagle/bassett (bagel!) who came to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He's an easy going guy who takes life as it comes and doesn't need a lot to keep him happy (plenty of time to sniff and plenty of snacks!). He doesn't mind other dogs but he's past wanting to put up with puppy nonsense. He lived with a couple of other dogs so he would be fine with another easy going friend who wouldn't mind a friend who is content to coexist! If you enjoy long, meandering walks and are pretty content to take life at a senior pace, Tim would love to meet you (joggers need not apply!). All our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots before adoption!

Story
Meet Sadie! Sadie is very pretty girl, with the most soulful eyes brown eyes you have ever seen, and the sweetest freckles on her legs. She's a happy girl, aways wagging her tail and often has a smile. She is gentle and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She puts up with the tiny residence dogs when they pull her ears, jump up on her or nip her legs. She tries to play with them but they don't reciprocate. She would do well with another dog her size to play with. She loves to be outside and let her hound nose take over. She enjoys smelling the outdoor smells, perhaps sensing the bunnies or squirrels who visited the yard before her. Sadie is crate trained, but would much prefer being with her person at night.  If you don't like doggie kisses, you won't fancy Sadie! She loves to give the people she loves her sweet kisses, probably as much as she loves peanut butter and cheese. Feline friends are safe with Sadie. She lives with some now and has no interest in them (except their litter boxes of course). As she is young, she has youth exuberance and we are working on manners. She has not had any interaction with children, but with her gentle nature and medium size, I believe a family would be good for her. Unfortunately, Sadie came into rescue with heartworms. She is under treatment at the moment and doing very well. If you are a hound lover, please consider Sadie. Story
Are you ready to welcome the chubbiest, most lovable furball into your life? I'm Chubbs, and I'm all about the snacks! I'll do just about anything for a tasty treat, and I'm always up for a snack negotiation. But don't worry, I know how to balance it out with some extra strolls around the block (or two) to keep my figure in check! Besides snacks, I absolutely love kids and cuddles. Family movie nights are my favorite—I'll cozy up with you and the kiddos, sharing some popcorn (just a little, I promise!). I'm the perfect buddy for snuggles and playtime, making every moment together extra special. I have met some other dogs in the past and have been content to hang out with another pup, but I’m not too keen on contact sports or rough play—I'd much rather chill and enjoy a tasty snack! Also, I can be a bit vocal at times when I play or when I get a little overly excited, I am a Beagle after all. And here’s the icing on the cake (or should I say, the frosting on the pupcake?): I’m the sweetest boy around! I love making new friends everywhere I go, spreading my charm like sprinkles on a sundae! Think you can handle the cuteness overload, snack negotiations, and endless cuddles? Then we might be the perfect match! Submit an application at the MAS website below, I can't wait to explore a whole new delicious, cuddly, and healthy adventure together! DOB: 2/2/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physically fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Jack, a year old male Beagle, who will win your heart over. Jack loves everyone, he will gently put his paws on you to get closer, will snuggle with you if you let him, and loves with his WHOLE heart. Jack was a surrendered hunting dog at 9 months old. He has spent the last 3 months in foster care being treated for heartworm. He is heartworm free and ready to get out and do things! Jack is definitely still a puppy, learning how to navigate living in a home. We found it beneficial to use his harness and leash along with positive praise and treats to curb unwanted behavior.   Jack is looking forward to having a job that will use his energy. Maybe a jogging companion, a walking companion, a gardening buddy, who knows. He loves the outdoors. He would love to have a home with a fence so he could run and be safe. He loved the neighbor boy, and all adults he’s interacted with.   Jack is brave. He isn’t worried about thunder, screams (yes, I screamed when there was a spider on me), or vacuums.   Jack doesn’t like to be left by those he loves, which is everybody. He will howl for a few seconds, and stop if you distract him - treat, toy, positive and excited voice. When left alone, he is currently being medicated, crated, and has a foster dog who is nearby. This helps with his feelings of abandonment.  So we do recommend another dog in the home with him. We all are hopeful that now that he is allowed to exercise that he will expend his energy and that he can find a home that has a lot of activity and a dog pal. Jack likes cats, but will chase cats that run. So introductions will need to be thought out and monitored.    We think Jack is super smart, willing to please, and absolutely adorable. We hope you do too! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate July 18, 2024, 2:12 pm

Story
Lady Lady is a Female Beagle/Boxer Mix DOB: August of 2021 Adoption fee: $150.00 I currently weigh around 40 pounds, I could use to gain a little weight, but I am a very nice size for those wanting a smaller/to medium size companion. I am playful and loving but unfortunately, I have tested light positive for heartworm. I am currently looking for a foster home or foster with the intent to adopt until I have completed my treatment. Not much information came with me when I arrived at the shelter except, my owners could no longer care for me, and very little vetting was provided while in their care. I have had at least one litter of puppies, but I am now spayed, and I feel so much better. I would do best with a physically fenced yard (I may require it). I walk well on a leash, and I appear to be house-trained. Pending a meet and greet, I may match with another dog. I have not been tested with cats yet but can be with an approved application. I would do my best with children 10 yrs. and older. I will make a great companion for the right situation.
