Story
TRACKER 4 years Attributes: Dog friendly Housetrained Good on car rides Requires a fence Will potty on leash Snuggly Crate trained Playful High energy Hi there... I'm Tracker They tell me I'm about 3.5 years old, but honestly? I feel more like a puppy most days. I've got 26 pounds of pure happiness and energy packed into this body, plus some *really* long, velvety ears that are perfect for snuggling. My story started a little rough. I was found on the road after being hit by a car, and my pelvis and leg were badly injured. But some amazing humans didn't give up on me. They made sure I got a special surgery (called FHO) for my leg so I could heal and keep using my leg. I've worked really hard, and my vet says I'm going to have a great life, just with a little less flexibility and a little hopping when I run fast. I don't let that slow me down one bit! My foster mom makes sure I stretch it every day and that makes it feel better! Now for the important stuff... my personality: I am, without question, the HAPPIEST boy you will ever meet. I love people, I love dogs, I love life. I'll nuzzle you, give kisses, and make you feel like the most important person in the world. I'm a professional cuddler and even enjoy watching TV with you on the couch. I sleep all night in my crate like a champ, and I'm pretty sure I'm house trained too. I've never been much of a barker. I prefer wagging my tail and making friends. I do great with my foster home beagle sister, and I love having a dog friend. I love car rides, fuzzy toys, and things to chew (but peanut butter or cheese? Hard pass). I'm still working on my commands and leash skills, which I know are lacking, but I'm eager to learn! Now, I should mention... I take my name "Tracker" seriously. I LOVE chasing rabbits, so I've got a strong prey drive. No small pets in the home would be safe with me. And I may dart out your door if you are not watching closely! For this reason, a secure fence is a must for me to keep me close to you, or I may run off and not be able to find you again! Also, with my history I'm also scared of cars so walking on the sidewalk stresses me out and I have to back up and watch every car that goes by – but I'm working on getting less anxious. I feel like a young puppy like I mentioned so I like to chew on things that I probably shouldn't, so I'll need a crate or secure place in your home when you leave me, at least at first. Cats? I met one briefly and just sniffed it, so we're not totally sure how I'd do living with one. If you're looking for a joyful, affectionate, slightly goofy best friend who will cuddle up with you and make every day brighter... I think we might be perfect for each other. Story
BUGSY 5 years Attributes: Dog friendly Requires another dog Housetrained Playful Snuggly Medium energy Requires a fenced yard Likes car rides Bugs' early life wasn't easy, but you'd never know it from his joyful spirit. This 3 - 5 year old, 22 pound beagle radiates sweetness. He's gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he's near his people or curled up with another dog. His house manners are excellent — he's never had an accident and uses the dog door like a pro. Bugs loves having a fenced yard where he can trot around and do a few joyful zoomies each day. Inside, he's a calm, content companion who enjoys napping near the resident beagles, watching the world go by from the front window, and playing with his beloved toys. Evening snuggles are a must in his book. He rides beautifully in the car and sleeps soundly in a dog bed next to his foster mom. Bugs isn't a big fan of the crate, but he doesn't need one — he can be trusted alone as long as chewable items are put away. Walks are still new to him, but he gains confidence when he has another dog by his side. He'd do best in a home with a friendly canine companion. Bugs recently completed heartworm treatment with no symptoms and will need a retest in October, along with lifelong monthly prevention. He also tested positive for Lyme, ehrlichia, and anaplasmosis and completed a month of doxycycline without any symptoms. Bugs has loved every child he's met and would be thrilled to join an active, loving family who enjoys playtime, cuddles, and lots of love. TREE BUD (Male) DOB: 1/31/26 Attributes Dog friendly Playful Snuggly Working on housetraining Crate trained Not best for apartments High energy Looking for a new best friend, then Tree Bud is the pup for you. Bud is the most adventurous of the trio with a warm heart and a strong personality. He is very smart having learned "sit", "off" and "no". He is a cuddle bug and loves being with people and other dogs. Bud loves to play, and be outside but he also likes being close to his people. He definitely has the beagle trait for food and is very food driven, but this makes his training easier as he will do anything for a treat. Bud is 90% house-broken, he knows to go outside but sometimes his excitement will lead to an accident, very impressive for a puppy. A funny thing about him is when he is hyper you can pick him up and he melts into calmness. Bud is 100% crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). ---------------------------- Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
