To adopt, go to:   www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html  All I need is one person to say “you’re home.” Could that be you? Hi friends! My name is Chance, and I’m a sweet, soulful 1½-year-old Beagle/Coonhound mix with a heart as big as my floppy ears. I’m searching for my forever home—the place where I can finally settle in, feel safe, and love my people with everything I’ve got. I’m a playful, affectionate boy who absolutely lives for toys, cozy snuggles, and quality time with my humans. I haven’t met a person I don’t adore yet, and I’m always ready to lean in for a good neck scratch or curl up beside you after a day of fun. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail and endless love, I might just be your guy. Not long ago, I took a big leap of faith and traveled all the way from Alabama to Minnesota with a few shelter friends, hoping my forever family would be waiting here. I’m loving the fresh air and new adventures! My instincts truly shine outdoors—I follow my nose everywhere, happily sniffing and exploring the world around me. A fenced yard where I can run, play, and investigate all the exciting scents would be a dream come true for me. I’m kennel trained, great on a leash, and a surprisingly quiet companion—not much of a barker at all. Walks are something I really enjoy, and I’m continuing to show just how well-mannered I can be. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and love making new canine friends.  I do have one small health note to share: I had bladder stones once in the past, but since being switched to Hill’s Science Diet C/D, I’ve had no further issues. The food is affordable, easy to find, and helps keep me healthy so I can focus on what I do best—being a happy, loving dog. All I’m really missing now is you. A family to call my own. A couch to snuggle on. A yard to explore. A heart to love forever. If you’re ready for a playful, devoted companion who will brighten your days and fill your home with joy, laughter, and unconditional love… will you give me a Chance at my forever home?           January 30, 2026, 1:59 pm

Story
Hi, my name is DeeDee. I am from Alabama. From her foster: DeeDee is blossoming more each day now that she’s had time to settle in. She is very shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. It does take time, so she is looking for someone who is patient and able to help her decompress gradually. This lovely girl is potty trained and crate trained, and she sleeps soundly at night. DeeDee enjoys spending time outdoors in a fenced area. She is comfortable with just a few steps down from the house—she’s still building confidence with full flights of stairs, and her future family can help her continue that journey at her own pace. Quiet, gentle, and incredibly easy to have around, DeeDee is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart before you even realize it’s happened. She is a beautiful soul who is deserving of a loving home and a wonderful second chance. From the Vet: DeeDee was staged for heartworm treatment at her initial vet exam while in rescue. During that exam we found a few additional medical conditions that her future home should consider to make sure she is living her best life! She has fairly advanced arthritis in her back and some in her knees. She may need joint supportive supplements and or possibly pain meds as she ages. Her heartworm disease is considered stage 2; Everything appeared normal on chest radiographs and blood work showed no sign of active heart disease. She does have a grade 2/6 heart murmur. TBB will not pursue further cardiology work up at this time, but this should be monitored in the future after heartworm treatment. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. TBB will also agree to cover DeeDee's Spay and Dental surgery that should be scheduled 30-40 days after heartworm treatment along with 1 round of medications and 1 recheck appointment as determined necessary by The Bond Between medical team.
