Story
Hi, I'm Tino. I am from Arkansas! From the foster: Hi! Im Tino. I am an approximately 11 month old beagle mix. I LOVE belly rubs and to spend time with my humans! I do love snuggling, so be prepared to get all the love in the world! I love to play with other dogs and run around outside. My favorite thing EVER right now is looking out the window, I love people and cars! But, I also love my toys! My current favorites are a little toy squirrel and a hot dog that I thought was so yummy so I ripped it up a little... I also love bones, my foster humans give me them to chew on; they're so yummy! I am house and kennel trained, but I do sometimes get a little nervous and whine. I do have some separation anxiety from my hard life so far, but I am a very good boy who is working on it! Tino would prefer to have a friend at home to help him with his anxiety. He said he's love another dog to play and cuddle with while home alone. Tino does not like his leash but if you give him time he will get used to it. Overall it could take some time for Tino to get comfortable in your home but I sure hope you give him a chance because he is an amazing pup who gives all the love and also wants all the love! Also, Tino has never been around children from what I know so he may or may not be comfortable. Hello! I'm pending some medical care but still available for adoption. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. I can still be adopted with a contract disclaimer about this care being added. This means my adoption can take place, while SHH still manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at their Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.

Story
I'm Lulla. I'm from Arkansas! From the foster: Hi my name is Lulla! I am approximately 11 months old and am a Beagle Mix. I am a fun loving silly girl who loves cuddles and a good belly rub. I love to play with my brother, so other dogs in the home would be nice, but I can also be fine alone. I love to play with my toys, and I especially love to chew on yummy bones! When I'm not playing or sleeping, I love to look out the window and watch people walk by! If play too hard sometimes my ears flop back and my foster parents think it's the cutest thing ever, they like to call me a little princess. I am house and crate trained but I get nervous sometimes and accidentally go potty. I also shouldn't be left at home alone too long because I get nervous and bark and wine (not too loud though). I don't chew on anything but I like to rip out the stuffing of my toys. Foster comments: Lulla is comfortable on a leash with her harness but overall it will take some time for her to get used to being in your home! She is the best little girl ever, and I hope you can have patience and allow her to get comfortable in her new home!

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Hi. I'm Hermosa. My name means darling or beautiful. Boy, did my foster dad know what he was talking about when he gave me that name. You see, I am a beautiful female beagle mix. I was found wandering the streets by my foster dad with my 3 month old son, Pedro. I am approximately 20 pounds and a few years old. I am fairly energetic and love to play and go on walks. Foster dad says I am friendly to everyone I encounter. Foster dad even thinks I would be good with children. I do, however, have a tendency to chase cats. I also have been known to dig in the yard if I am bored and left unattended for long periods of time. I have been a great mother to Pedro but foster dad says those days are over! Foster dad says it may be hard to adopt us together since many folks are looking for a singleton. A girl can dream thought, right? We came into the rescue together after enduring hard times and we would love to leave together. If that isn't possible, we understand but please consider the advantages of having two. Double the pleasure and double the trouble! Enough about Pedro and I. How about you? Are you open to adding some adventure? If so, have your peeps call my peeps and we will get this love fest started. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB:  08/05/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Only dogs her size or smaller Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old:  Yes  Weight: 23 lbs Requires a fenced yard:   Yes, would love one for exercise Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area.  Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Lily. I am a beautiful female Beagle mix puppy who enjoys pig ears; freeze dried salmon treats; and wrestling with other doggies my size. But ya know what I don’t like…a lot of commotion, being put in a kennel/crate; or being left alone. Seriously, would YOU want to be left alone…and then in a box to boot??? I didn’t think so! Anyway, foster mom gives me medications for my anxiety and a possible skin condition but don’t worry…I still love life! Hee, hee!! I am a very athletic girl who loves running & exploring the yard; wrestling with & chasing my resident fur sib; snuggling with my family especially when belly rubs are involved (hint, hint); saying ‘hello’ to all the other dogs that pass by the house when I’m in the yard; following foster mom around everywhere; and taking nice long naps! Hee, hee! Since I love to run, jump, climb, crawl, chase, and explore so much, I think I’d really enjoy agility training. In fact, having more activity in my life might even help with my anxiety! I have not met any cats, but I am great with kids, and I hope to have a doggie companion at my new home. I am potty trained but do need to go out regularly due to my medications. I have good leash manners, am always eager to please, and I know a bunch of commands like “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “go potty”, “leave it”, and “heel”. I am even starting to understand what “fetch” and “quiet” mean…Yes, I am a vocal one so “quiet” would probably be a good one to learn! Hee, hee!! I am a total love bug who simply needs and deserves a VERY special fur-ever family who will not only be patient with me, love me unconditionally, and NEVER give up on me but will be committed to helping me stay healthy and reaching my full potential! I promise that if you rescue me, not only will I rescue you right back, but I will shower you with EVERY ounce of love in my heart! Love, Lily Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Story
Introducing Ginny, a sweet Beagle mix with a loving personality! This beautiful girl adores people and kids, always greeting them with an infectious enthusiasm. Her gentle nature and affectionate demeanor makes her a cherished companion for families and friends. Ginny does have a particular quirk: she prefers the company of humans over other dogs. She didn’t have the best experiences with other dogs in a former life. This means it takes her a while to warm up to another dog. While she does have some dog friends and even has lived with another dog who she got along with very well, it may take time and patience to introduce her to new doggie friends. Despite her past, her love and loyalty to her human family is unparalleled. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, going for long walks, or playing games with children, Ginny is happiest when surrounded by her favorite people. With patient and understanding owners, Ginny thrives in a loving home where she has lots of people to hang out with. Her individuality and love for human interaction make Ginny a truly one-of-a-kind furry friend, and with the right care and training to help her get used to her new home, she’ll continue to bring immense joy and love into your life for years to come. Senni-Ginny is estimated to be 9 years old and 32 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. We can only place animals in homes within a 100 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.
