Story
SATO SPOTLIGHT! Today’s spotlight shines on Simba! Simba is a special guy who has been with MAD for a few months. He had a bit of a limp that we had checked to find that he had multiple previous fracture of the legs and pelvis, probably my from being hit by a car. These injuries were not attended to at the time of fracture and they healed on their own. “Fixing” them would require extensive surgery to rebreak and set multiple areas with an uncertain outcome. We chose to let Simba live his life which he happily does! He’s playful, and active just like any other dog and makes us laugh with his funny little smile. We think he is a chihuahua/italian greyhound/beagle type mix and about 1.5 years old. Simba will arrive in Albion, NY in early June and we would love to have a family waiting for him! To apply please go to https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153 Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. For more information on adopting please email madrescueofwny@aol.com and fill out our online application at https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153 Canadian applicants are always welcome!

Story
Vaquita is a rescue from Puerto Rico where she was living in a garbage landfill trying to survive with her friend Loki. They were at risk every day from the trucks driving in and out, but fortunately the employees kept an eye on them as long as possible until they were able to be rescued. They are both funny, grateful dogs who are so happy to be safe in a foster home where they are receiving love, and a cozy couch to rest on. Vaquita is friendly to other dogs and to all people she meets, in spite of her sad beginning. At 1.5 years old she is about 25 pounds. She is gentle, patient, and level headed. She will arrive in Albion, NY in late June and we would love to have a family waiting to meet her! Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. Story
Bob is a 10 year old male Beagle. He is from West Virginia. Bob will be neutered prior to adoption.  He is currently in a foster home. Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $300 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please email us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.June 22, 2024, 8:13 am

Story
Snoopy: Male Beagle Mixed Breed Puppy - Hi, I’m an enthusiastic 1 year old, 45 lb puppy who loves to play. I have lots of energy to play with dogs and chase a ball. I am food motivated which helps with training though it’s hard to stay in a sit position and wait for a treat. I’m working on that. I am crate trained and potty outside with few accidents indoors. I love exploring on my daily walks. If you think I’ll be a perfect fit, fill out an application at www.buffalounderdogs.com ##1840838##

Story
Name: OscarDOB: 5/9/23Breed: Beagle/Dachshund MixSex: Neutered MaleWeight: 17 lbsLocation: Buffalo Oscar is a 1 year old, Dachshund X Beagle mix from Texas. He is having the best time figuring out how to play with toys and running around the yard! He’ll gladly accept any pets and belly rubs offered at any time! He appears to be potty trained while on a potty schedule, he does well in the crate while his foster parents are at work, he pulls a bit on the leash but it’s very manageable, he loves other dogs and adores children. Cats are unknown.  He would do great with another dog willing in the same household or he’d be able to adjust to being an only dog with plenty of human attention.  He’s more on the submissive side so a large dog who has a ton of energy may be too much for him. He’s a happy boy and will make a great best friend and/or family dog! If you are interested in Oscar, please apply at https:// www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue on Facebook, if you're already pre-approved ##2079763##

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
