Story
Name: Joe DOB:11/30/25Gender: male Weight: 5 poundsLocation: Buffalo, NYStatus: adoptable starting January 25, so start getting your applications  Our mom, Princess, is a sweet beagle mix who was found as a stray in Kentucky, very pregnant and in urgent need of a rescue. Just in time, she was given a safe place to land and like any good fairy tale, the next chapter came fast. The very next day, Princess gave birth to 10 tiny heirs. We don’t know who our dad is (mystery prince ), but we do know our mom is definitely a beagle — and we’ve inherited her charm, floppy ears, and sweet personalities. From the moment we were born, our foster mom has taken such great care of us, making sure we were safe, loved, and thriving every step of the way. Raised in foster care with love and stability, we’ve been busy growing, cuddling, and preparing for our royal debuts. If you are interested in adopting, please apply at www.716paws.org/adopt. If you are pre approved and want to be added to the list, send a message to our Facebook or Instagram page, or an email at info@716paws.org ##2630664##

Story
KANE is an adorable almost year old medium mix of beagle-houndish origins if we had to guess. He's sweet and loves people and gets along with all the other dogs he's met so far. He's fully vetted and he's doing great learning the ropes of leash training and has a fun, curious energy. He likes to follow his foster around the house or get comfy with them in sight. Kane's already learning some commands, as well. He loves to play and has been a big hit at events we've brought him to. He loves playing fetch and will even bring it back most of the time, He is a big cuddlebug and loves to give kisses. He's just under 50 lbs and should be about full grown or close to it. We've just learned that he is NOT great with cats. FYI he came to us quite underweight and has put on a little weight proportionately since some of the earlier pictures shown here. (est dob 2/17/25) 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Story
Meet Belle, a gentle soul with unshakable strength and a heart full of love. Belle’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she lived alongside her friends Lizzie and Buster. Life there was harsh—food was scarce, danger was constant, and survival was never guaranteed. At some point, Belle suffered a broken hind leg that healed crooked, leaving a visible reminder of her struggles. But Belle never let her past slow her down. She walks, runs, and plays like any other dog, and the only thing she carries from her injury is her remarkable resilience. The leg doesn’t affect her daily life, though we keep an eye on it since the skin there is thin. What truly defines Belle is not her scar, but her sweet, gentle nature and her quiet determination to love and be loved. With her soft eyes and tender heart, Belle is ready for a forever home where she’ll be cherished for the survivor she is. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies grace, courage, and unconditional love, Belle is waiting to meet you.
