Cricket is an estimated 2 year old, beagle mix -weighing 19 lbs! She came from horrible conditions .... she was surrounded by bones, deceased dogs and no food. She was saved by Wolfe County Shelter in KY and never will experience that again! She does have a cherry eye that will be repaired when spayed. She is potty trained and has been doing wonderfully since being saved ##2635018##

Rudy is sweet beagle mix who is about 4 years old and weighs approximately 25 lbs. He gets along and plays great with the other foster dog in his foster home, but he does not always like to share and makes it clear. For that reason, he may do best as the only dog or with a dog savvy family if there is already another dog in the home Rudy loves to zip around the back yard at full speed when he plays! He also has a high prey drive and would love to chase every squirrel, rabbit or any other critter he comes across. There is a good chance he could catch them too. A secured fenced in yard is a must for this speed demon! When Rudy isn’t on the hunt, he is a complete cuddle bug and even likes to sit right on your lap. He is crate trained, walks like a total gentleman on a leash and likes going on walks and taking long naps. Cats…he would say yes please, but for all the wrong reasons! If you love your cat, Rudy is not the dog for you. He enjoys playtime with the other dogs in his foster home but also loves cuddling with his person.  Rucker has done great with housebreaking and is crate trained. He is neutered, updated on shots, microchipped, flea treated and dewormed. Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered.
