Story
Viola is a beautiful soul that we think is about 3 year old  and a Beagle mix girl. This black and white beauty with adorable speckled legs and a sweet She only weighs 20 lbs and has the sweetest smile and absolutely loves people. She was found as a stray that was taken to the shelter very scared and almost shutdown while there. Her human mother died and Viola is now 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t really know her story, but we feel there is some trauma there in her past. It takes her a little bit to get used to people and even longer for dogs. She wants a safe place to observe (wire crate suggested)  till she figures it out. Her foster kept her behind a gate and her bed was her safe place. For a few days she would growl through the gate at the other dogs but after that it was over. We would leave the gate open and she would venture out and if she got nervous she would go back to her safe place. She is never ugly to the other dogs at her foster and  if one of the Chihuahuas was mean to her,  she just ignored her. We have her using puppy pads because there is  no fenced yard. Viola would definetly need a fenced yard so she can safely explore and have potty breaks. The outdoors makes her nervous still. She loves her people immensely and adores  kids but older ones are best.  If you want to help and REALLY rescue a dog them Viola would be forever indebted to you.    If you are interested please email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 29, 2025, 1:51 pm

Story
Lovey is the kind of puppy who reminds you what love is really about. Rescued just in time from a neglectful home where she wasn’t wanted, this beautiful Beagle mix girl arrived with sad eyes and a quiet plea for something better. Before we ever met her, we named her Lovey in honor of the Valentine season — and once she was safe, it became clear that her name couldn’t be more perfect. At just 9 weeks old and 7.5 pounds, Lovey is blossoming into the happiest, most affectionate little puppy. She adores people, loves to play, and fills her foster home with joy through all the classic puppy antics that make you laugh and fall in love daily. Her past is already fading as she embraces her new life with an open heart and a wagging tail. Lovey is bright, food-motivated, and eager to learn, which has made training a wonderful experience. She is crate trained, learning leash skills, and doing great with potty training both outdoors and on pee pads. She approaches every new lesson with enthusiasm, clearly wanting to please and connect with her people. Lovey is expected to grow into a 30–35 pound adult with a rich golden short coat and the sweetest, most expressive face. She will be a devoted companion whose heart belongs fully to her family — the kind of dog who wants to be close, loved, and included in everyday life. This Valentine season, Lovey is wishing for something simple and lasting: a family to love her forever. If you’re ready to open your heart to a puppy who will give hers back a thousand times over, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 8, 2026, 12:20 am

Story
Raynor would love to find his forever home for the holidays! He has a heart of gold. While he had a rough start as a stray in Isle of Wight County and still has a bit of anxiety with humans, he has come a LONG way and flourishes in a home with another canine companion. Raynor is a social butterfly who absolutely loves doggie daycare and the dog park. On walks, he has an endearing habit: he'll proudly pick up a random stick, regardless of its size (from 3 inches to 3 feet), and carry it with him like a trophy. Beyond his unique walking style and enthusiastic hellos, he's a generally quiet companion. ?Greets you at the door with the cutest “aroo” ?Sleeps like he works the nightshift ?Foster mama will babysit for free Raynor will require a patient home that will give him the time to decompress but also put in the work to show him people are kind. Name: Raynor Age: approx 3 years old Weight: 40 pounds Color: tri color Breed: beagle/foxhound Vaccines: yes Altered: yes Heartworm Status: negative, on preventions Energy Level: moderate House trained: yes Crate trained: has crate anxiety Dog friendly: yes, a friendly dog is a must in his potential forever home Cat friendly: yes Kid friendly: yes, older kids are recommended due to his timid nature Temperament: gentle, shy Adoption fee: 275 Available for adoption anywhere in the US and Canada with transport provided at no extra cost Currently located in Chesapeake VA Application link: http://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/VACC/Dog

Story
Meet Charlie Brown! Charlie is a cute little neutered male beagle, around 9 years old available for adoption in Chesapeake, VA (adoption area is within 1.5 hours of 23322). Charlie is a short and stocky guy and is currently a little overweight at 25lbs. Charlie is a super sweet cuddly boy; he just wants to climb up in your lap for a snuggle. He loves having his back scratched, going for walks/adventures, every person he meets, and of course food! Charlie gets along with just about everyone, he has previously lived well with young children, cats, chickens, and other dogs of varying sizes. Charlie was surrendered to BTTR when his family was preparing to move. Charlie was also attacked by the neighbor’s dog (see the scars on his face) and they were concerned for his safety since the neighbor’s dog often dug under the fence into their backyard. Charlie has fully recovered and still seems to love all dogs and people. Charlie walks really well on a leash, appears housebroken, and has great basic house manors. Charlie is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines (rabies/parvo/distemper/lepto/bordetella), heartworm/tick borne illness negative, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Charlie loves to be outside and would love a home where he could go for walks and have a fenced in yard to sniff and explore. Like many beagles he is a medium energy dog and is not the best fit for an apartment and cannot be let off leash without wandering off. Charlie would do best in a home with another dog as a companion, as he is working through some minor separation anxiety. BTTR offers a trail period for all our adoptions to make sure we are the right fit! If you are interested in learning more about Charlie give us a call at 757-447-7773 or check out our website at https://www.beaglestotherescue.org/bttr-adoption-info February 5, 2026, 5:05 pm
