Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. Shadow came to us from a neglect situation and was surrendered to our shelter for proper care. Despite coming from this situation, Shadow is an outgoing and sweet boy who loves people! Shadow is very smart and already knows multiple commands. He likes to chase tennis balls around outside in our backyard. He is very food motivated. Shadow lived with another dog and has shown to be fine with dogs while at our shelter. Shadow is looking for his forever family who will never leave him wanting for anything again! Shadow is a bit grabby when it come to food and treats, but who can blame him after what he has been through?! Due to this, he can go to a home with children 12 years and older who have larger dog experience. Shadow is an active dog who will need to be provided with adequate exercise and stimulation to keep him happy. We are looking for an active family to adopt Shadow. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.
