Story
Meet Otto, our cherished 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd Mix who is seeking a new loving home. Despite our best efforts, we've realized that our current lifestyle doesn't provide Otto with the attention and activity he truly deserves. Therefore, we're looking for a family that can dedicate more time to playing with him and walking him. Otto is fully vaccinated and neutered, and he's a delightful companion around adults. However, he would thrive in an environment where there's more time for outdoor adventures and quality playtime. He's compatible with certain dogs, but has shown some signs of nipping behavior around others. To ensure Otto finds the perfect home, we're kindly requesting a small rehoming fee of $50. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to Otto. Your companionship and commitment will undoubtedly bring him much joy and fulfillment.

Good With Kids: Older kids Good With Other Dogs: *Females same size ideal Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes Knows Basic Commands: Workin’ on it Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Go Go Go Special Needs: N/A Physical Fence: Preferred Favorite Toy / Activity: Loves fetch and squeaky toys Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023. Approximate age / Weight: 1 yr old and 50 lbs. Personality: Arnold is a happy, energetic boy who arrived with an injury that required hip replacement surgery. He dealt with that like a champ and is ready to live life to the fullest. True to his breed, Arnold thrives on physical activity. He enjoys long walks, vigorous play sessions and likely would love to participate in dog sports. While he hasn’t charmed the male dogs (huskies) in his foster home, he hangs out with the lady dogs and respects their boundaries and corrections. We do not think Arnold is a good candidate for daycare or dog parks. New Home: Arnold is adaptable and would likely fit it to different home environments as long as his physical and mental stimulation needs are met. He is really looking for humans to appreciate his go-go-go personality. He will accept the challenge of keeping up with an active pet parent. Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. ADOPTION INFO: We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. Story
MEET HUGO, THE FUTURE KING OF YOUR HOUSE! Hugo is a 3 year old male German Shepherd who has been neutered and is searching high and low for his forever home! Hugo has VERY SPECIFIC tastes- he quite simply does not want any other dogs in his space, whatsoever, wherever he is at any time. Is that so much to ask? When Hugo sees other dogs he will pull and bark loud enough to make sure he's heard, letting everyone know he means business- for these reasons Hugo will need to be an ONLY CHILD. Now people are a different story! Hugo loves to make new human friends, he wants to be the center of attention and thinks he's a lap dog, even at 70 pounds! Hugo is a highly social young man who shares his toys with his people, and loves getting treats. Hugo will thrive in a home with NO OTHER DOGS, A FULLY FENCED BACK YARD, and EXPERIENCE WITH A DOG WHO DOESN'T LOVE OTHER DOGS! If you're able to give Hugo a chance to leave the shelter and find his home, PLEASE SEND IN AN APP TODAY!
