Story
Hi! I’m Fern, though around here everyone lovingly calls me Zelle. I’m a Belgian Malinois with a big smile, a bigger heart, and an even bigger obsession with balls. Seriously — if it bounces, I’m in heaven.
My story started in a scary place, but everything changed the day a kind lady came to meet me. I didn’t know it then, but she was about to give me my second chance. She came back for me, and that moment is something I’ll never forget. Since then, life has been full of adventures.
My foster family takes me camping, lets me explore, and gives me all the balls I could ever dream of. I’ve even learned that I love to swim — splashing, diving, chasing toys in the water… it’s the best. They say I can smell a gopher from 50 yards, and honestly, I believe them. My nose is kind of amazing.
I live with a foster Malinois friend, and we get along great. But deep down, I’m hoping for something more — a family of my very own. A place where I can bring all my joy, energy, loyalty, and goofy love.
I adore my foster mom. She’s my favorite human, and she helped me learn what safety and happiness feel like. But she also tells me that somewhere out there is a forever home meant just for me — one where I can shine even brighter.
I’m Fern, I’m Zelle, I’m a ballchasing, waterloving, gophersniffing sweetheart… and I’m ready for my next adventure with a family who will love me as much as I’ll love them.

We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport.
