Good With Kids: Older kids Good With Other Dogs: *Females same size ideal Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes Knows Basic Commands: Workin’ on it Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Go Go Go Special Needs: N/A Physical Fence: Preferred Favorite Toy / Activity: Loves fetch and squeaky toys Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023. Approximate age / Weight: 1 yr old and 50 lbs. Personality: Arnold is a happy, energetic boy who arrived with an injury that required hip replacement surgery. He dealt with that like a champ and is ready to live life to the fullest. True to his breed, Arnold thrives on physical activity. He enjoys long walks, vigorous play sessions and likely would love to participate in dog sports. While he hasn’t charmed the male dogs (huskies) in his foster home, he hangs out with the lady dogs and respects their boundaries and corrections. We do not think Arnold is a good candidate for daycare or dog parks. New Home: Arnold is adaptable and would likely fit it to different home environments as long as his physical and mental stimulation needs are met. He is really looking for humans to appreciate his go-go-go personality. He will accept the challenge of keeping up with an active pet parent. Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. ADOPTION INFO: We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website for the date and time of the next adoption event. Story
Meet Otto, our cherished 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd Mix who is seeking a new loving home. Despite our best efforts, we've realized that our current lifestyle doesn't provide Otto with the attention and activity he truly deserves. Therefore, we're looking for a family that can dedicate more time to playing with him and walking him. Otto is fully vaccinated and neutered, and he's a delightful companion around adults. However, he would thrive in an environment where there's more time for outdoor adventures and quality playtime. He's compatible with certain dogs, but has shown some signs of nipping behavior around others. To ensure Otto finds the perfect home, we're kindly requesting a small rehoming fee of $50. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to Otto. Your companionship and commitment will undoubtedly bring him much joy and fulfillment.

Story
Phil is a small (53 pounds) adorable German Shepherd. He was transferred to us from the River Rouge Animal Shelter. Before that, he was found wandering the streets. He is very sweet and oh so calm and just the best boy. He is heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. During his treatment, Phil has to stay relatively calm (no running races or playing fetch for hours). But after his treatment, he will be ready to go on all those walks and jogs and hikes with you. So, please don't let that dissuade you from meeting this wonderful dog! His treatment is 100% covered. So, don't let that scare you either. You will fall in love.
