He took a moment to get comfortable on the slick shelter floors, but once outside his personality started to shine.-He happily sat beside me for pets, gave sweet kisses, and even rolled over for belly rubs-As he relaxed, his playful puppyish side came out! He loves toys, especially flipping them around and playing tug, and his goofy enthusiasm is sure to keep you smiling.-He’s still learning that hands and clothes aren’t toys, but his mouthing is gentle and he responds well to redirection.-He already knows “sit,” takes treats very gently, and is eager to interact, even if food isn’t his biggest motivator-Like many young, energetic dogs, he’ll benefit from continued training and an active home that can channel his playful spirit-Underneath the puppy antics is a loving, people-oriented boy who’s ready to become an amazing companion-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Great disposition! Very friendly, dog friendly, and easy to vet. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
