Story
Max A18592545 lb. neutered male, approx 8 months old -Look at this handsome dude!-For a puppy, he’s got a surprisingly calm and easygoing personality!-He walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling, though he may jump up for attention now and then—typical puppy enthusiasm. -He already knows when it’s time to earn a treat, although he likes to turn “sit” into a “down,” which is pretty adorable. He takes treats gently and seems to prefer the smaller ones.-He’s a sweet, gentle boy who enjoys toys and is still figuring out how to play with people. After a few play bows, he happily returned the favor with an adorable little pounce.-More than anything, he loves attention, pets, and belly rubs, and he’s sure to win you over with his soft, affectionate nature.-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Great disposition! Very friendly, dog friendly, and easy to vet. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Shenzi is a 9-month-old Belgian Malinois mix with a heart as big as her ears! This sweet girl may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once you`ve earned her trust, she transforms into the ultimate love bug who wants nothing more than to be by your side.True to her breed mix, Shenzi is incredibly smart and eager to learn. She already knows how to sit and shake, and she`s ready to continue building her skills with a family that enjoys training and helping their dog reach their full potential. She thrives with positive reinforcement and would love an owner who can keep both her mind and body active.Shenzi absolutely adores other dogs! Whether she`s running full speed around the yard, wrestling with her canine friends, or making new playmates, she`s happiest with a dog buddy to share her adventures. One thing to know is that Shenzi is very reactive to cats, so she is looking for a cat-free home.Because she`s a bit timid by nature, Shenzi would do best in a quieter home with older teenagers or adults. Loud, busy environments aren`t her style, and she`ll flourish with a patient family that allows her to settle in at her own pace.As an active young dog, Shenzi will need a securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs and burn off her energy. One of her favorite games is fetch, and she`ll happily chase a ball over and over before coming back inside for cuddles. If you`re looking for a loyal, intelligent companion who will reward your patience with endless affection, Shenzi could be the perfect addition to your family. Give this sweet girl the chance she deserves, and she`ll be your best friend for life.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Delta is a 1 year old malinois who loves to run, play with toys, and be with other dogs! She does have a higher prey drive and likes to chase things like squirrels and lizards, so a house without cats or kids is preferred! She's doing great with her foster/trainer and is fantastic with her basic obedience skills! She is also house trained, muzzle trained, crate trained, and potty trained! She enjoys car rides and playing with the other dogs her foster mom brings her around (after slow intros, and she's still a bigger fan of the male dogs)! She is sill cautious with new people and new envirmonments, but once she warms up, she is a little firecracker! Delta would prefer a female handler with no kids. Sheis eager to show her future person all of her amazing skills! All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  *********************************************************************** We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Tiphaine A18599540 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -This beautiful girl can start off timid and needs time and patience-Once she was comfortable with me she snuck up behind me and let out a hefty play bark. I turned around and she crawled around to the front of me and rolled over. She laid contently while I offered pets and belly rubs.-I did a few play bows at her later, to try to engage her in play, but she seemed confused and nervous as to what I was doing-She just seems un socialized and inexperienced at life-She’s not currently playing with toys and my squeaker made her lay up against the wall and submissively roll over-Maybe a quiet household to start would be best for her to feel comfortable-She seems to be trying and did well with everything she experienced-She eats treats only when comfortable-She walks nicely without pulling-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.
