Story
Sweet Gilmore may be over 10 years old, blind, and hard of hearing, but don’t let that fool you—this girl is full of life and personality! Despite her age, she has a young spirit, loves her toys (the tougher, the better!), and will happily entertain herself and her people with her playful energy. Here’s what you’ll love about Gilly: -Loyal Companion – Gilmore has a special way of sniffing her way over to wherever you are. She’s a total people dog and will come to snuggle up by your feet, making her the perfect co-worker and cuddle buddy. -Potty Trained – She quickly learned her fosters routine and hasn’t had any accidents since her initial adjustment. She’s happy to go outside on a regular schedule and can even be left alone for up to 7 hours without any issues. -Playful Spirit – Despite being blind, Gilly still LOVES to play with her toys, especially tough rubber ones she can’t destroy. She’s a big fan of fun and games! -Dog Friendly – Gilly gets along wonderfully with her foster sibling, a female Goldendoodle. She’s respectful and easygoing around other dogs, though with smaller or male dogs, she needs slow introductions. -Best for Families with Older Kids – Gilmore’s blindness sometimes leads to a few playful bumps here and there, so she would do best in a home with older kids who understand her limitations. Gilmore is a special girl with so much love to give. Her foster has truly enjoyed having her, and we’re sure anyone would be lucky to call her family. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Meet Blaze, a senior sweetheart with a heart of gold and a charming wobble in his step. This 7- to 8-year-old gentle soul has been through a lot but is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will shower him with the love and care he’s always deserved. Blaze’s journey hasn’t been easy—he came to us from DACC, where his future was uncertain. Now, this lovable guy is searching for a cozy, comfortable home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness. Blaze is the perfect houseguest. He’s fully potty trained, sleeps soundly in his crate with a treat to coax him in, and is completely non-destructive when left alone. He’s happiest on leisurely, sniff-filled strolls, though his wobbly back legs mean short walks are best for now. Watching Blaze’s endearing, tipsy gait is sure to melt your heart! One of Blaze’s favorite activities is car rides—he’s obsessed! Whether it’s a quick errand or a scenic drive, he’s thrilled to join and happily watches the world go by. Just give him a little help getting in and out, and he’s ready to go. Treats, peanut butter Kongs, and snuffle mats are also highlights of his day. Blaze gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and enjoys companionable walks with furry friends. While he’s curious about cats, he’s more of a quiet observer than a chaser. He’s also a people-pleaser, happiest when he’s by your side, either on a cozy dog bed or just hanging out. Blaze’s only request? A home with minimal stairs and maybe some rugs or carpet to help with his mobility. This simple guy is ready to bring his gentle, loving nature into a home where he can relax and thrive. Could you be the hero Blaze has been waiting for? Apply to foster or adopt today and give this amazing boy the life he deserves. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time!
