Story
Whiskey is Sponsored by Happy TrailsMeet Whiskey 🤎Whiskey is a kind-natured adult male German Shepherd with soulful eyes and the gentlest heart. He came from a heartbreaking situation, but despite everything he’s been through, Whiskey has chosen kindness. All he really wants now are a few tasty treats, some loving pets, and a yard to run off his energy in.This cuddle tank is a gentle giant with an easygoing nature that makes him a wonderful companion. Indoors, Whiskey is calm and affectionate, happiest when he can lean against his people or stay close by, quietly soaking up love. On walks, however, Whiskey’s size and strength really shine — he is a big, powerful boy who can pull on leash and will need an adopter committed to continuing his leash training and helping him build good walking manners. While he’s a pretty chill guy, he’s still a German Shepherd, and this handsome boy will need a solid amount of daily exercise, structure, and guidance to truly thrive.Whiskey deserves a home where he’ll never be overlooked again — a place where patience, compassion, and consistency will help him continue to heal. In return, he offers unwavering loyalty and the kind of love that comes from a dog who truly appreciates a second chance. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion with a heart of gold (and don’t mind a little extra muscle on your walks), Whiskey is ready to meet you. 🐾If you are interested in meeting Whiskey, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Meet Tulip, a tender, polite girl who handles new experiences with quiet courage . After a moment to decompress, she approached her handler with a neutral body, soft eyes, a closed mouth, and a calm tail. Though she flinched at first touch on her neck, Tulip allowed gentle petting on her head, neck, back, sides, and abdomen with no issues. She even let the handler check her ears, teeth, and front paws. When her tail and back paws were touched, she sat with slightly worried eyes — but stayed patient and easy to handle as long as the handler moved slowly . Tulip may feel a bit unsure at times, but she shows no concerning behavior and truly wants to trust. She just needs a calm, loving home that gives her time to blossom. Tulip has previously lived with other dogs, cats, and small children making her a great candiate for any home! ##2615866##

Story
Billie is an older gentleman who as found as a stray and brought in by a Good Samaritan. His finders loved him and held him for about two weeks but couldn’t keep him. They say, “We fostered him for about 2 weeks but couldn’t keep him as we moved this week and couldn’t bring him along. He’s super chill and just needs some lovin’.” Here at the shelter, Billie is an independent soul. He thinks for himself and has his own agenda, but has good energy. He loves treats and knows how to sit (good boy) but isn’t the type to be all up in your business. He’s a great dog for someone who wants a chill roommate-type companion instead of an obsessive best friend! We haven’t tested Billie with dogs yet, but please bring your dogs to meet him and see if it’s a match! Neutered Male 77 pounds 7 years ##2621643##
