Story
Mia is a 6-month-old German Shepherd mix. She and her siblings were born on the streets in South Texas. They wondered onto a man’s property when they were about 3 months old and he kept them safe until he could find help. A few were given away and the remaining four were all female (Ruby, Lola, Mia and Violet). Magnolia Animal Rescue stepped in to help, fearing if given away they would not receive the care they needed. Mia is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and current on heartworm preventatives. All four girls are very intelligent dogs but will need some patience while they adjust to a home environment. These girls have not lived the easiest life so they will definitely show their gratitude by being a loyal companion. Considering her rough start, Mia is a confident dog in exploring new surroundings. She is currently working on basic commands and learning the joys of being a house dog. She loves playing with toys, especially balls and appreciates having regular meals. Mia is working on potty training and walks fairly well on a leash. Mia is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the dogs in her foster home. Mia will sometimes jump up on you when she gets excited, so like all puppies Mia will need continued training with her new family. Please submit your application, and a representative of Magnolia Animal Rescue will contact you. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that are a good fit for the dog.

Story
Ruby is a 6 month old Belgian Mal mix. Her and her siblings were born on the streets in South Texas. They wondered onto a man's property when they were about 3 months old and he kept them safe until he could find help. A few were given away and the remaining 4 were all female (Ruby, Lola, Mia and Violet). We were afraid if they were given away they wouldn’t receive the care they needed so we stepped in and immediately took them to the vet to get vaccinated & preventatives. Shortly after they got spayed & microchipped and received 2 more round of vaccines to insure were protected. Ruby has recently made her journey to DFW and is slowly making progress. She is a puppy that wants attentions but is cautious in the beginning until she realizes you are there to show her love and companionship. She has the sweetest personality once you get to know her and she gets settles in. The vet staff always says she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She would do best with a family that works from home or has a family member that stays home or a family with another dog to keep her company as she gets lonely. We are making progress with potty training she has had minimal accidents but foster mom takes her out regularly and after every meal. We are also working on training with a leash. She does well on car rides and is super gentle when you give her a treat. She hasn't shown signs of hyperactively, she has normal energy level but will update if anything changes as we get to know each other more. Overall foster mom says she's a great dog and will make an extremely loyal companion. The only negative thing she does is howl when alone. That's why she would do best with a work from home family or to have another dog in the house to keep her company. She also recommends for her to be in a house with a secure backyard as she likes to run around but she is small enough to squeeze through small places if she wants. Ruby is on the smaller side weighing in at 36 pounds. We estimate for her to be about 50-55lb Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that are a good fit for the dog.

Due to her rough start, Violet can be a little fearful in exploring new surroundings. She is currently working on basic commands and learning the joys of being a house dog. She loves playing with toys, especially balls and appreciates having regular meals. Violet is working on potty training and will need further training to walk well on a leash. She can pancake when scared but by allowing her to go at her own pace she is learning that new can be fun. Violet kennels well and seems to enjoy the safety of her crate so she will quietly hang out chewing a bone. Violet is nervous at first with new dogs but is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the dogs in her foster home. Violet will need continued training with her new family to grow into her potential. These girls have not lived the easiest life so they will definitely show their gratitude by being a loyal companion. Hi I'm Lola! I am such a good girl, my foster mom keeps telling me that and I believe it! After being in a consistent and stable and safe environment, I am thriving. I learned about dog toys and love them! I was so scared of everyone and any movement startled me. Though I'm doing really well now. Once I got used to things, it's easier for me. I will still need a lot of time, patience and love from my new family. I love belly rubs, head scratches, and playing with the other pups here. There have been a few accidents indoors but I'm quickly learning that I am supposed to go outside. I’m such a good girl!
