Story
Bonnie is a sweet approximately 1 year old Belgian Malinois mix who was rescued from a high kill Animal Shelter of Texas, where she spent 6 months, cooped up. She was only 9 months when she was rescued. Her two siblings sadly did not make it out of the shelter alive. Bonnie is a very sweet and highly energetic young girl that is kennel trained. She currently lives with three other dogs and 4 cats, but does test her boundaries when it comes to the cats. She is still young, so she is very active, loves toys and is very fast. Check out her video here : https://vimeo.com/1072010839?share=copy She loves kids, but might do best in a home with children that are slightly older than toddlers as she may knock them over. She is also highly trainable as she is a quick learner and food motivated. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love. She needs to be fed separately from other dogs as she was starved as a puppy and then had to fend for her food in the shelter before her kennel mates took them away. Bonnie is currently about 40 pounds. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Her adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness, leash, and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. Sweet Bonnie is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this gorgeous girl via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, and the ones who are taken to our shelters, where they are euthanized if they are not rescued or adopted. By adopting one of our pups, you are actually saving two lives - the one they adopt, the one who takes their space in the foster home.

Story
Woofy is a very quiet 9.5 year old senior pup, who only barks when he sees something or someone unfamiliar or when he needs to go potty. He is an absolute sweetheart who adores belly rubs and all the pets. He has a special fondness for his stuffies, especially his cuddly puppy. Woofy used to be a yard dog, kept outside all his life, when last August, he got out and got hit by a vehicle. His former owners brought him to our vet to be euthanized but our vet saw how sweet he was, and requested us to take him and give him a chance. Woofy's injuries were grave After two surgeries to repair his leg, our surgeon decided that amputation was the best decision. He had four surgeries in less than a month, and he lived in a boarding for 2 months, until a foster home opened up. He has been with his deal foster parents for a while now, and he loves and trusts them. Woofy has never known what it's like to live inside for his entire 9 years of life, or to play with toys or have friends. His life was spent in a yard, alone, sometimes hanging out with the kids. He learned to play with toys for the first time, and does not go anywhere without a stuffie in his mouth. He also steals his foster siblings' toys whenever he gets a chance. He loves to cuddle and get petted. He did not know any of these before. He is thriving in his foster home with his foster siblings, and will love a home where he gets the same amount of love and affection. Despite being a tripawd, he gets around very well and benefits from minor daily exercise to keep his legs strong. He doesn’t like to be jumped on by other dogs and loves short walks and laying down next to his people. Woofy doesn't need to be kenneled as he doesn't destroy things when left out. He thrives in the company of other dogs, which seems to boost his spirits, although he is not good with cats. Woofy would flourish in a loving home where he can either be with other gentle dogs or be the sole dog. He is great with senior dogs and will make a wonderful addition to a kind and caring family. so he is slowly adjusting to inside dog life. Woofy is currently 70 lb, fully vetted, and neutered. Woofy is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. To meet this adorable pup, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Brandy Whiddon/Kelli WilliamsonCairo “Cai” is a super friendly Malinois with an abundance of energy and a strong desire to stay close to his human. Due to his size and tendency to enthusiastically run towards people, a home with no children under 12 is not recommended. Cai is highly active and would thrive with an owner who enjoys running, hiking, and engaging in various dog sports such as nose work, barn hunt, dock diving, agility, and obedience.  While Cai is well-behaved in his crate, he becomes vocal when he knows someone is nearby, seeking companionship. He's currently working through some marking issues, which are expected to diminish as his hormone levels stabilize post-neutering. Initially aloof with strangers, Cai warms up quickly, especially to women, and does best with a confident and understanding male owner. Cai has an excellent recall, especially with treats, and respects boundaries like fences. He tends to be overly excited when returning on recall but will sit on command. While he interacts well with female dogs, he's more reserved around males and would do best with a smaller, low-key male dog companion. He largely ignores cats, aside from a slight reaction when they seek his attention. Cai's ideal home is one with Malinois experience, capable of handling his high energy and training needs. He loves toys and fetch but requires two balls to ensure retrieval. He's currently learning loose leash walking, proper greetings, and other basic commands. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator:Maryfrances BettsIntroducing Bean! (formerly known as Jujitsu) Approximately 3 years old, spayed female 46lbs, Currently located in Maryland. Bean is what we like to call a pocket rocket Malinois! She is small and petite but boy is she fast! Bean has a high toy and food drive and moderate prey drive. Her most favorite activities are playing ball and going for hikes. She also has a pretty good off switch when she is in the house. When she is inside, she is content laying in a comfy bed and chewing on a bone. She knows basic commands like sit, down, she is working on stay and she walks well on a leash. She enjoys working for her meals and being fed by hand for training/relationship building purposes. Bean is very willing to please! She is great for being bathed and getting her nails dremeled. After a long day if given the opportunity, she will cuddle with you and she is really good at it! I think she would make a great fast CAT, agility or fly ball prospect. She doesn't mind getting in her crate but sometimes will bark if she knows you are leaving without her. She gets along well with male dogs. She has not been tested around female dogs. She is people selective. Bean does not like to be approached quickly; she prefers to have some time to warm up to you. She does not like new people leaning down over her or making aggressive movements toward her.  With her past being unknown, it seems something has happened to her that these things trigger her. Once you are in her circle of people, you are in for life. She would do best in a home with no small children or cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Daria AdamsStray, very under weight. Meet Julius – A Loyal, Loving Belgian Malinois Ready for His Forever Home (18 months, male, fostered in SC) Julius is an 18-month-old Belgian Malinois with a heart full of love and a strong desire to be close to his humans. This intelligent and affectionate boy has shown great progress in his foster home, proving himself to be a well-mannered companion with excellent house manners. He is crate trained, never has accidents in the house, and eats his meals in his crate using a mini muffin pan to slow him down. Julius is highly food-motivated, making him an excellent candidate for further training. While he has a strong prey drive, he is not dominant, making him a great fit for activities such as tracking, agility, barn hunts, or even therapy work. His foster believes he could excel in search and rescue, scent detection, or even as a professional couch potato! Julius has shown a reserved but thoughtful approach to new people. He recently met a generator maintenance worker and handled the interaction with curiosity and composure. While he gave one initial bark at the stranger, he immediately took direction from his foster and observed calmly. He did not display aggression or fear, even with prolonged eye contact, demonstrating his trust in his handler’s judgment. This behavior highlights his ability to be an excellent companion in a home that values a protective but level-headed dog. However, Julius does not have the temperament for bite work or high-pressure protection jobs—he is far too mild and focused on his people. Due to his past, Julius does have some sensitivities. He flinches at sudden movements and cowers when objects like a cane are knocked over, suggesting he may have suffered abuse before coming into rescue. He is also still learning proper play boundaries and working on not using his teeth on human skin during playtime. Because of his jealous streak with small animals, Julius should go to a cat-free home and is best suited to a household without small children. However, he would thrive in a home with adults or teenage children who understand his need for structure, patience, and love. His ideal family will allow him to be close to them—whether snuggling on the couch or resting contentedly on his dog bed nearby. Julius is a devoted and loving dog who is ready for a family that will cherish him and provide the stability and companionship he craves. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate Malinois who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Julius may be the perfect match for you.   If interested in Julius and you haven't completed an app with ABMR yet, please do so: https://www.malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  March 22, 2025, 5:03 pm

Story
Buck is a very sweet German Shepherd whose previous owners went through hardship and had to surrender him to rescue. He is a typical GSD who just wants to be with you. He is completely velcro and very loving. Buck is fine around dogs on walks, but is dog selective if he has to hang out with them, and is not good around cats. He loves people and will rollover for pets when he meets a new animal lover. He is good with kids but we do not adopt out our adult shepherds to homes with young kids. Buck's ideal home will be an only pet, in a kid-free home. Previous German shepherd experience is mandatory to adopt our GSDs. Buck is 5 year old, around 75 lb and current on vaccination, neutered, and microchipped, He is heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Buck loves to be petted and is very intelligent. He really likes to snuggle by your side, and will not thrive without that privilege. Being a shepherd, he will need an active home where he can get his exercise to burn her energy. Buck is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada. Yards must be fully and adequately fenced, to be considered for our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com so you could be approved to meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chats.
