Story
Are you looking for the deepest canine devotion? A true partner? Every now and then we encounter a dog like Mabel Marie who is capable of forming a remarkably intense connection with her person. This girl is super smart and super connected to her person. Put those together and you have an incredible doggy partner! We believe Mabel Marie is a Malinois x German Shepherd mix, just turning 3 years old. She takes to training like a pro! She already walks beautifully on a leash (incredibly attentive to her handler!) and knows a few commands: sit, come, leave it, go to her kennel. She’s a dream for someone interested in obedience or other competitive pup sports. But Mabel Marie doesn’t need any job other than loving her family! She’s not hyper – just medium-energy. As long as she gets a bit of exercise each day she’s very happy. She would love to hang out on the couch, snuggle, and watch Netflix or lounge around in the yard. She also loves leash walks, car rides, and exploring. What Mabel Marie loves the most is hearing what a good girl she is. Your praise and positive feelings are the entire world to her. That’s what motivates her – even more than a tasty treat! She wants to be connected and in sync with you. She has lived with other dogs and kids, and enjoys playing with both! But a home without small animals is best for her. She’d love to be with a family again or be your one and only. Ideally she’d like someone who is home a lot. She’s not a big fan of extended periods of time in her crate. And frankly, she misses you! She gets her confidence and joy from being with her person. Are you ready for that perfect partner to share adventures and quiet times? Mabel Marie is ready to cuddle, go for walks, and love you with all her heart. Don’t miss out on this amazing pup! The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Follow along on our rescue journeys through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $42 surcharge.

Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Breed: German Shepherd mix Age: 3 yr Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 55 lbs / 22 inches Energy level: low Relations: great with dogs once comfortable with them, good with kids, not good with cats  Highlites: playful, tripaw, joyful, very affectionate, independent, low exercise needs - no walking needed Hi everyone, my name is Annie Oakley. I am a beautiful and very happy girl, but that hasn't always been true for me. I used to live in the Middle East where at the very tender age of eight months I became pregnant. I was much too young to become a mother and all my puppies died. In addition my rear leg had been badly damaged, probably from being hit by a car. In the country I come from, dogs are considered vermin and people often deliberately hit us with their cars in an attempt to kill us. The wounds became badly infected and I was in terrible pain by the time I was finally rescued. The vet I was taken to wasn't able to save my leg and it had to be amputated. Despite this I am very mobile and can easily climb stairs. I can't go on long hikes but normal length walks are perfect for me.  I am a very loving and affectionate girl who has a real love of life. I enjoy the company of other dogs once I trust them and currently live happily with several dogs of all sizes. However, it takes me a few visits for me to feel safe with other dogs. So it is difficult for a potential adopter to take the time I need to get me familiar with their dog. So a home without another dog is best for me. I am happy being the only dog in the home as my true love is people. I have the cutest habit of splaying my front legs out wide when I want you to play with me. And if you pet me and stop and I want some more, I will wrap my front legs around yours to trap you and keep you with me. Adorable, right?  I am a really easy dog to care for, and to love. I very much enjoy being outside so a fenced yard is important to me. In fact, I don't need or want to go on walks. Because of my missing rear leg, I find walking too strenuous and much prefer hanging out with my person inside the home or outside in the yard. A covered deck for me to hang out on, watching birds and squirrels, is ideal for me. While I am a joyful soul, I am not at all hyper or high energy. At home, I am very calm and relaxed. My favourite thing to do is lie on my bed, chewing on a marrow bone or a chew stick. There is no way you could be unhappy with me around.  I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $600 plus applicable taxes* Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##951485##

Story
Meet Hecktor! This handsome man is sad to be up for adoption, he's had a lot of changes in his short life and is looking for a consistent routine! Hecktor does have some asks of his forever home, for example currently we feel he would be best as the only animal in his home. But don't worry, this smart boy won't leave you wanting more! Hecktor loves to be with people and is a total goofball, especially when it comes to play time. Hecktor can be a bit much when he's excited though, and needs to learn not to be mouthy as a game (instead encourage to play with toys!). For this reason, currently we feel he would be best in an adult only home. If you have never looked into the Malinois breed, we definitely recommend doing a bit of research as they are an incredibly intelligent working breed. Hecktor will need tons of physical exercise but also lots of mental stimulation and brain games. Hecktor walks amazingly well and can't wait to finally enjoy a spoiled life going on adventures and hikes with his soon-to-be future home! This guy would be best suited to a home rather than an apartment. We know it won't take long for someone to swoon over this hunky boy! Come in to meet him from 12pm-3pm daily (except Mondays when we are closed) or give us a call if you have any questions, 604-922-4622! Story
Meeth the one and only, Moose!Moosey is incredibly friendly and highly excitable! He is interested in everything and loves getting out on walks where he can explore and burn off some energy. This sweet boy sure knows exactly how to use his puppy dog eyes to entice you into giving him lots of cuddles and treats. Moose can sometimes be picky about which dogs he likes and doesn't like, so would likely do best as the only pet in the home. He would be best suited to an adult only home (or one with older children) and would love a space with yard access. Moose is our current shelter GENIUS! No surprise considering his Malinois breed. He is currently learning agility training here at the shelter and is AMAZING at it! This boy is SMART. Moose is also loyal and kindhearted, all he wants is your love and undivided attention! He is very food motivated, which will be beneficial for the ongoing training he would need to learn not to jump up on people when excited. He is already well versed in 'sit' 'paw' and 'beg' and has been learning 'spin'! His intelligence and ability to learn would make him a great companion for someone who has training experience. He often hangs out with us up at reception and is our favourite snuggle bug on the couch during staff breaks. Moose really is such a lovely boy, and we're excited to see him progress in a home full of TLC. If you think Moose could be the man for you, fill out an application online or visit him in shelter Tuesday-Sunday between 12-3pm.
