Story
Hi there, I`m Lil Jake! I may not be the biggest or the loudest pup in the shelter, but I promise you, I`ve got a heart full of love just waiting to share. I`m a 4-year-old dog who`s been through some ups and downs in life, but I`m ready to find my forever home and be the best companion you could ever wish for. When I first came to the shelter, I was a bit timid. The noisy surroundings and the unfamiliar faces made me a little shy. But with a little time and patience, I quickly blossomed into a friendly and playful boy. Once I got to know the kind humans here, I couldn`t help but show my true, happy self.I absolutely adore playtime! Whether it`s chasing after a ball, frolicking in the yard, or just goofing around with my favorite squeaky toy, I`m always up for some fun. I`m also a cuddle bug, and I`ll gladly curl up with you on the couch for some quality snuggle time. I`ve learned to trust people, and I`ve become very comfortable with being touched and even picked up. I`m a loyal little guy who just needs the right person to connect with. Now, I should mention that I can be a bit selective when it comes to interacting with new people. I tend to choose my friends carefully, and I`m looking for someone who will take the time to get to know me and let me warm up at my own pace. But once we`re friends, you`ll have a loyal and loving companion for life. When I`m out of my kennel, I`m a happy little guy. I love going for walks, exploring new places, and just being with my human. I`m a well-behaved boy who`s eager to learn and please. I`m just waiting for that special person who will give me the chance to be the best dog I can be.If you`re looking for a sweet, playful, and loving companion who`s come a long way from his timid beginnings, I`m your Lil Jake. I promise to bring joy, love, and happiness into your life. Will you be the one to take me home and make my dreams of a forever family come true? Let`s start our new adventure together!

Story
Meet Song! He is the sweetest little boyl! He is a 6 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before being sent to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Song and some of his family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app June 30, 2025, 5:41 pm

Story
Please see the link for her rescue video. Sassy is slow to trust, we like to say that she doesn’t kiss on the first date. But once she is given a little time and space, she is very loyal, affectionate and flirty. She seems to warm to men faster than women. We prefer an adult home, no kids. She can be spicy so we wouldn’t want to risk children not reading her body language. No health issues, no allergies. Good on leash and in the car. Good with the groomer.

Story
** Note: Hoho will be ready for his flight to LA once adopted. Background Hoho was rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. He was one of 19 dogs abandoned in a parking lot and later taken to a city pound. Thankfully, all 19 dogs were rescued in time. When we found Hoho, his back legs were already paralyzed. We’re not sure what caused it, but our vet believes he may have been living in that condition for years. Today, Hoho lives safely at our partner boarding house, surrounded by other dogs, and continues to amaze us with his resilience and gentle soul. Personality & Socialization Hoho is a sweet, mellow, and affectionate boy who loves people. He’s not shy and warms up quickly to both new people and other gentle dogs his size. His favorite thing? Being close to his humans. He’s obedient, calm, and very cuddly — the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but given his friendly and easygoing nature, we believe he could do well with cats after a slow and proper introduction. Behavior & Adaptability Hoho is incredibly adaptable. He’s learned how to move around in his wheelchair like a pro, and he loves being outdoors, going for walks, and just soaking in the world around him. Despite his condition, he’s full of life, curious, and eager to engage. He’s well-behaved at the vet, in the car, and even during grooming and bath time. The only time you’ll hear him bark is when he gets excited for mealtime — other than that, he’s calm and quiet. Health & Care When rescued, Hoho was in terrible shape — severely matted, paralyzed in the back, and suffering from a corneal ulcer in one eye. Since then, he has received thorough veterinary care, including Autologous Serum Therapy (AST) for his eye. His vision is not affected, and the cloudiness in his right eye is continuing to improve. Although paralyzed, Hoho can potty on his own. He just needs a little help cleaning up afterward. He’s gone through a full veterinary workup, including an MRI, and aside from his existing condition, he’s in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for parasites. He has a healthy appetite, eating dry food twice a day, and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home Hoho would thrive in a calm and loving home with someone who has the time to be present — whether you work from home, are retired, or simply lead a relaxed lifestyle. He doesn’t ask for much, just your time, patience, and love. --------------------- For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/hoho-3/

Story
My dogs name is Missy and she's about 5 years old! She's a part of our family but unfortunately we have to find a new home for Missy due to a landlord permission issue. It pains us so much to have to let her go but we are hopeful that a loving and gentle family looking to adopt a dog will give her a new loving home! This owner will need lots of patience as she is an adult dog with anxiety, she's a protective dog because she barks at every noise she hears by the door to let you know that someone's at the door. We took Missy into our family when she was 1yr old and it didn't take her too long before she learned to trust us (of course with lots of gentle love and patience!) But we were strangers to her so that would be normal. Missy loves being petted and she's an indoor dog so she knows that she has to go potty on a mat when she hasn't been taken out for a walk! ❤️
