Story
Hi there, I`m Lil Jake! I may not be the biggest or the loudest pup in the shelter, but I promise you, I`ve got a heart full of love just waiting to share. I`m a 4-year-old dog who`s been through some ups and downs in life, but I`m ready to find my forever home and be the best companion you could ever wish for. When I first came to the shelter, I was a bit timid. The noisy surroundings and the unfamiliar faces made me a little shy. But with a little time and patience, I quickly blossomed into a friendly and playful boy. Once I got to know the kind humans here, I couldn`t help but show my true, happy self.I absolutely adore playtime! Whether it`s chasing after a ball, frolicking in the yard, or just goofing around with my favorite squeaky toy, I`m always up for some fun. I`m also a cuddle bug, and I`ll gladly curl up with you on the couch for some quality snuggle time. I`ve learned to trust people, and I`ve become very comfortable with being touched and even picked up. I`m a loyal little guy who just needs the right person to connect with. Now, I should mention that I can be a bit selective when it comes to interacting with new people. I tend to choose my friends carefully, and I`m looking for someone who will take the time to get to know me and let me warm up at my own pace. But once we`re friends, you`ll have a loyal and loving companion for life. When I`m out of my kennel, I`m a happy little guy. I love going for walks, exploring new places, and just being with my human. I`m a well-behaved boy who`s eager to learn and please. I`m just waiting for that special person who will give me the chance to be the best dog I can be.If you`re looking for a sweet, playful, and loving companion who`s come a long way from his timid beginnings, I`m your Lil Jake. I promise to bring joy, love, and happiness into your life. Will you be the one to take me home and make my dreams of a forever family come true? Let`s start our new adventure together!

Story
H! My name is Inez, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued by DoVE Project out of South Korea. My fate would have likely been to end up being captured and sold for human consumption through the dog meat trade. Thanks to my rescuers and DoVE Project, I am no longer in danger and am now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: CARE24-017 / Inez SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female / 6 lbs / 5 years BIRTH DATE: September 1, 2024 BREED: Bichon Frise mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations complete / Spayed / Healthy BEHAVIOR: Inez is a sweet little princess! It doesn't take long for Inez to charm you with her lively and cute personality. She enjoys running around outdoors and exploring interesting scents. When she heads inside, she likes to find soft and fluffy places to cuddle! She gets along well with other friends and has a kind and loving personality to everyone. BACKGROUND: Rescued from a puppy mill that used Inez as a practice dog for grooming. Many dogs were found sick with injuries. ABOUT SHELTER STRESS Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period of time develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form

Story
Meet Bear! A charming 2-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a soft, fluffy white coat. Weighing in at 4kg, this little guy is as sweet as he is adorable. At first, Bear might be a bit reserved when meeting new people, but offer him a treat, and he’ll quickly warm up to you! He’s comfortable around both men and women and enjoys gentle affection. He can be picked up safely by placing your arms under his belly. When it comes to other dogs, Bear is a social butterfly! He loves making new friends—big or small—and happily greets both familiar and unfamiliar pups. He’s easygoing and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, even if another dog tries to provoke him. While he enjoys following other dogs around, he may feel a little overwhelmed by those with high energy levels. Although he hasn’t lived with cats before, we believe he could coexist with them, and we’d be happy to test his compatibility. Bear has a moderate energy level—he enjoys outdoor adventures but is just as happy to relax afterward. However, since he spent his early life in a breeding facility, he has never been on a walk before. He’s still adjusting to wearing a leash and getting used to the sights and sounds of the outside world, so he’ll need some gentle guidance and patience as he learns. This little guy is a dream when it comes to manners! He’s not possessive over food, rarely barks, and doesn’t seem to struggle with separation anxiety. He’s also comfortable in a crate and can use both pee pads indoors and go potty outside. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, Bear is now ready for a loving home where he can continue to grow and experience all the joys of being a cherished companion! Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers. If interested, please contact us. ##2305914##

Story
Meet Knox, a lovable 2-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a fluffy white coat and a big heart. Weighing 6.4kg, he’s full of affection and always ready to make new friends! Knox is an absolute people-lover. Whether it’s someone he knows or a complete stranger, he’ll happily trot over, rub against them, and soak up all the attention. Call his name, and he’ll come running, eager to be by your side. He has no preference between men and women, and while he hasn’t had experience with young children, we believe he would do well with them. He’s comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly and even rolls over to show his tummy to new people without hesitation! When it comes to other dogs, Knox is just as friendly. He greets every pup—big or small—with enthusiasm and isn’t shy about showing affection. His playful, easygoing nature allows him to get along with even high-energy dogs, and if another dog tries to provoke him, he simply walks away. However, as much as he enjoys canine company, Knox’s heart truly belongs to people—his favorite place is right by your side! Though he hasn’t lived with cats before, he seems adaptable and could likely coexist with them. Knox has a slightly higher-than-average energy level, which makes sense given that he spent nearly two years confined before finally experiencing freedom. He may be extra excited at first and eager to play until he tires himself out, so regular outdoor activities will be essential for him. Since Knox was rescued from a breeding facility, he has never been on a walk before. Leashes and outdoor noises are still new and a bit scary for him, so he’ll need patience and positive reinforcement as he learns. Knox is a well-mannered pup who doesn’t guard his food from people or other dogs. He does have some demand barking, especially when confined, as he likes to be part of the action. However, if left alone for a while, he settles down. When he’s with people, he’s generally quiet and content. He’s used to both pee pads and outdoor pottying, but he may need a refresher in a new environment. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, Knox is now ready for a loving home where he can experience the joy of companionship and adventure! Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Meet Barney! This charming two-year-old Bichon Frise is as sweet as he is fluffy. Weighing in at 4.5kg, Barney is a gentle soul who might be a little shy at first, but with a tasty treat, he warms up quickly and happily accepts affection. He loves people and, once he feels comfortable, will eagerly seek out cuddles. While he’s still getting used to strangers touching him right away, he has no trouble being picked up—even by someone he just met. Though he hasn’t had experience with children under 13, his friendly and gentle nature suggests he’d do well with them. He’s just as happy meeting men as he is meeting women! When it comes to other dogs, Barney is a social butterfly. He’s full of curiosity and enjoys making new canine friends, regardless of whether they’re familiar or complete strangers. He especially loves bigger dogs but also gets along just fine with pups his own size or smaller. Even if another dog tries to pick a fight, Barney prefers to steer clear of trouble. He has no problem keeping up with high-energy playmates, though he sometimes gets knocked around due to his smaller size. Barney hasn’t lived with cats before, but given his gentle and friendly personality, he seems like a great candidate for a multi-pet home. His energy level is moderate—he’s calm indoors but loves to run and play when outside. As a former breeding dog, Barney had never experienced the outside world before his rescue, which means he’s still getting used to wearing a leash and adjusting to the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Walks are a work in progress, and he’ll need a patient adopter to help him gain confidence. Barney has excellent manners—he doesn’t guard his food or toys, rarely barks (except when excited during play), and is comfortable in a kennel. He’s mostly house-trained, preferring to do his business outside, though he may need a refresher when adjusting to a new environment. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, South Korea, Barney is now ready to start a new chapter. With a little patience and a lot of love, he’ll make an affectionate and loyal companion! Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Nana was rescued from a high kill shelter located in Incheon, Korea. She came to us fearful of people and other animals, suggesting that she might have endured difficult experience at a young age. She was weak, dehydrated and suffering from malnutrition. Thanks to our foster mom, Nana made huge improvements and ready to meet her family. We are looking for a family who will continue to provide proper training. PLEASE NOTE: All of our recently rescued dogs are currently fostered in Seoul, Korea by our volunteers. Our adoption process may be stricter than any other rescue organization as these rescued dogs are traveling over 5500 miles to be with their new permanent family. You must be at least 25 years old to be considered an overseas adopter. For serious inquiries only. Please note, we monitor all pets after adoption. We prefer adopters that are active on any of the social media accounts. Thank you!
