Story
Buddy is a very sweet and lively little boy. He is seven months old and about 8 pounds. He was bought from a breeder and is very friendly. He is great with kids and even cats. We love him but even though his breed is hypo allergenic our kids are highly allergic and we just can't keep him. I've never heard him growl. He is still mostly a puppy and nibbles on stuff but he does not bite. He's mostly good, but potty training has been difficult for us as he has been going back and forth to my elderly mother's house because of the kids allergies.

Story
Hi there, I'm Lil Jake! I may not be the biggest or the loudest pup in the shelter, but I promise you, I've got a heart full of love just waiting to share. I'm a 4-year-old dog who's been through some ups and downs in life, but I'm ready to find my forever home and be the best companion you could ever wish for. When I first came to the shelter, I was a bit timid. The noisy surroundings and the unfamiliar faces made me a little shy. But with a little time and patience, I quickly blossomed into a friendly and playful boy. Once I got to know the kind humans here, I couldn't help but show my true, happy self.I absolutely adore playtime! Whether it's chasing after a ball, frolicking in the yard, or just goofing around with my favorite squeaky toy, I'm always up for some fun. I'm also a cuddle bug, and I'll gladly curl up with you on the couch for some quality snuggle time. I've learned to trust people, and I've become very comfortable with being touched and even picked up. I'm a loyal little guy who just needs the right person to connect with. Now, I should mention that I can be a bit selective when it comes to interacting with new people. I tend to choose my friends carefully, and I'm looking for someone who will take the time to get to know me and let me warm up at my own pace. But once we're friends, you'll have a loyal and loving companion for life. When I'm out of my kennel, I'm a happy little guy. I love going for walks, exploring new places, and just being with my human. I'm a well-behaved boy who's eager to learn and please. I'm just waiting for that special person who will give me the chance to be the best dog I can be.If you're looking for a sweet, playful, and loving companion who's come a long way from his timid beginnings, I'm your Lil Jake. I promise to bring joy, love, and happiness into your life. Will you be the one to take me home and make my dreams of a forever family come true? Let's start our new adventure together!

Story
Meet Harley! This beautiful boy is an approximately 6 year old, Bichon that is about 20lbs. Harley was surrendered to us when his owners moved and did not want to take him along. It's ok because it is their loss and our gain! We found out that Harley was basically kept inside a mobile home 24 hours of the day while his owner was at work 12-14 hours. He didn't receive any socialization and was reprimanded for going potty in the house. We brought him into our foundation and into one of our amazing foster homes that has other dogs and a full family of people to see how he did. We can see that he can be a bit dominant with other dogs at first, but with correction which he takes well, he is learning day by day how to socialize properly. He is great with people! We do want him in an adult only home as he is a bit strong. Harley loves to play ball (small Kong balls are his favorite!) and will entertain himself with one or will play with you by bringing the ball to you and having you throw it. Harley's ideal home would be with an owner who is not gone long hours during the day and will take him for a few walks which he loves. He is great on leash! He's a good eater, but his skin was left by his prior owner...completely infested with fleas which caused allergies, so an owner that will incorporate good home cooking and supplements into his meals, is exactly what he needs! Harley is a bit clumsy in the car, but does love to sit by your side. He will need practice with that. Harley definitely can be an only dog with an owner who will spend time with him or he could be adopted with one other dog in the home that is not dominant or he could be adopted with his buddy Tali, a female 2 year old, 17lb, Maltese/Terrier mix. A home with a yard is exactly what Harley needs as he loves sunbathing and helps with his potty training into a new home. Harley was not treated well in his prior home, so we want to make sure he gets the best forever family out there! Harley is microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
Kiana is a sweet and affectionate pure-bred Bichon from a breeder who no longer had any use for her :(  Her coat was so matted she had to be completely shaved down.  This sweet girl is a happy camper now that she's getting all the love and attention she deserves.  Her foster mom says she's her shadow and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs.  Kiana is a great walker and loves exploring new areas.  She's great with other dogs and although she's initially nervous around strangers, once she gets some pets and words of reassurance she's her charming, goofy self.  Kiana is good in the car and the perfect size to take on all your excursions.  Her coat will grow back in no time and she'll be lovely.  Kiana will make a wonderful companion and shower you with unconditional love.   She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped and has had a dental and bloodwork.  If interested, please fill out the adoption application on our website bichonsandbuddie.com.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 2:03 pm
