Story
Sylvester Pawllone (AKA Sylvester Stallone) (AKA Sully) is a sweet 1.5 year old and 14 lb Bichon Frise/Maltese mix who had a bit of a “Rocky” start. He was found as a stray on the streets of San Bernardino. With no collar, tag, or microchip, and not neutered, Sylvester came to us through kind-hearted rescuers who wanted to give him a second chance. Sylvester is a friendly and affectionate little boy. He loves to run in the backyard and play, especially with squeaky toys and balls. He adores his walks and does great on the leash. Sully is great with other dogs, enjoys pets, and is quite the cuddler! His foster family also says he seems house-trained / pad trained, and is comfortable in his crate. Now fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Sully is ready to star in his next big role, as the new member of the wonderful forever family he deserves! More from his foster: Looking for the paw-fect dog? Say hello to Sully!!, a sweet little boy with the best personality and a growing confidence. After arriving into our foster care, Sully quickly showed his sweet character — from wanting to snuggle on your lap to going on walks, he is really good on a leash. He also loves car rides and meeting new people. Oh, and he’s housebroken too!! In the home, Sully is calm, gentle and affectionate. We are currently working on basic training such as “sit” which he’s picking up fast!! Sully has done wonderfully well with our young Grandchildren, and loves to have his belly rubbed and ears tickled. He’s very gentle at taking treats from your hand, and he loves to sit right next to you on the couch and doze off!! We don’t hear a peep from him at night and he’s always so happy and joyful when he wakes up. Sully's energy level is relaxed and calm. He’s just happy to be in your company. We have been amazed how quickly he has become part of the family. He really is no trouble at all and will make someone the perfect pet. ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Story
Meet Songi! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 3 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Songi and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app December 1, 2025, 9:38 pm

Story
Please see the link for her rescue video. Sassy is slow to trust, we like to say that she doesn’t kiss on the first date. But once she is given a little time and space, she is very loyal, affectionate and flirty. She seems to warm to men faster than women. We prefer an adult home, no kids. She can be spicy so we wouldn’t want to risk children not reading her body language. No health issues, no allergies. Good on leash and in the car. Good with the groomer.

Story
JENNY--Help needed JENNY is in need of sponsorship in our sponsorship program to pay for the remainder of her extensive veterinary costs. We are raising funds for all of her diagnostic procedures--Xrays, Ultrasounds, CBC, Urinalysis--for her extensive dental work, and extraction and suturing of six very bad removed teeth, and for her bladder stone removal surgery, JENNY is a Maltipoo, a Maltese/Poodle cross. Jenny is 7 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is a cream and white color, and she is also hypoallergenic! JENNY is very intelligent and inquisitive. She is housetrained, sweet, gentle, playful, loving, affectionate, a lot of fun to be with, and not destructive. Dogs like JENNY also require regular ongoing grooming maintenance to prevent dangerous matts and tangles in the fur which can cause serious skin damage. To learn more about additional help we need for JENNY'S veterinary care, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email address for sponsorships and donations).

Story
Roscoe is a tiny, snow-white Maltese with big teddy-bear eyes and a sweet button nose. He’s incredibly cute, expressive, and will be back to his fluffy self once his fresh haircut grows back. He’s energetic for his age, curious once comfortable, and loves exploring or snuggling into blankets. Roscoe warms up slowly but bonds deeply — his previous owner passed away, and he clearly loves having a person to be close to… and yes he looks adorable in sweaters. He’s mostly potty trained, loves his walks and has no problem on a leash, tolerates the crate well, and does best in a calm, quiet home (a retiree or someone with a mellow routine would be ideal). He is building confidence quickly. A perfect little companion with a gentle, loyal heart.
