Story
Yorda is my parent’s dog, but due to their age, she is proving to be more than they are willing to do. That said, Yorda is a sassy, happy, and playful dog who will always let you know what she’s thinking but is also very socially smart when playing with other dogs. She can be shy at first but who wouldn’t be when they’re only 4lbs in a big, crazy world? She LOVES giving kisses & snuggles but is still a puppy so has a lot of energy. She has been crate & potty trained but has recently been peeing inside for non-health related reasons. She will need training for new expectations at her new environment. Yorda also sleeps well through the night & can sleep in a human bed without issue. My parents said she cries at night. I haven’t experienced that: if I get up to pee, I take my dogs if they need to. If I don’t wake, I never had issues with Yorda. LOVES food. Priced to go to a good home, to cover medical fees, cost of spay + persistent baby teeth removal (done before adoption).

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING…thank you! MEET KAI! A 3-4 yr old, tan/white, 15 lb, adorable, Shih Tzu, who came from the streets of San Bernardino with no history. By the time he came to us, he had developed more anxiety and fear. We found a trainer who helped get him through most of his issues. However, she never addressed obedience or “leadership behavior” so he can still be reactive to some dogs especially on walks. We FINALLY found a behaviorist who is teaching his foster how to teach Kai to respect her…AND IT’S WORKING! Leader not lover — until alpha is established. Kai is a smart dog who does his best with regular exercise and dedicated attention — and he needs a patient, experienced home that will give him time to acclimate. Insufficient physical activity can lead to heightened anxiety, so he needs an active home that will engage him. Kai gets super excited when you come home or it’s feeding time! He is a foodie and is very motivated by treats! He’s a great dog, just needs leadership. Kai is OK interacting with calm dogs and is very friendly with people and children once introduced. Encounters with dogs on the street requires ongoing reinforcement, as he becomes overly excited and will dart toward them. However, once allowed to familiarize himself, sniff and settle, he doesn’t pay much attention to them. While we don’t always recommend crates, some dogs consider them a “safe cave,” especially if that is how they are trained. Initially, Kai had barking issues, which have definitely settled. That being said, he should be in a home where his person is around a lot and there are no other dogs. Kai’s favorite and never changing thing is to collect squeaky toys! He’s like a puppy at times, teething on your hands/fingers. BUT he can be moody. His guarding issues with toys has dissipated (people and dogs) for the most part, but not with food. Take it slow and watch his body language. He’ll let you know. If you hear a growl, back off! An active home, POSSIBLY with another small, calm but playful pup and a firm yet gentle guidance, patience, and ample acclimation time has proven to be the ticket for Kai. Could this be your next family member? He’s available now (to the right home!) PLEASE DON’T APPLY IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE EXPERIENCE. KAI IS A WONDERFUL DOG BUT HE NEEDS PARAMETERS AND DISCIPLINE! He just needs to respect you and if you set it up this way, it will be this way! He does come with a session by the behaviorist which LHH will pay for. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION HERE’S PHINEAS….and it is really difficult to capture the physical activity of a black dog in a picture! Phineas is a wonderful example of exuberance! This 14 lb, black/charcoal with a white chest, 3 yr old, Shih Tzu Terrier is a bundle of life! We don’t know his story, but he was found in a trash bin container when a good Samaritan found him and took him home. He was a mess and obviously hard to see…but he made his way to our home…and hopefully to yours! Phineas is small but he is absolutely NOT a lap dog…until you figure out his secret! After he has been walked/hiked/exercised, Phineas would like nothing better than to be stroked/pet/loved on until he falls asleep! To watch him mellow is a site to behold! Otherwise, he could fetch toys for hours with you…and bring them back! He can be a little dominant with other dogs, but he is more interested in you! He doesn’t like being left alone (most dogs don’t) and he will let you know but he does settle down. He might be a great fit with a medium/bigger dog who he can’t boss around! Totally non aggressive with people or kids (0ver 8 yrs old) or most dogs. If you like the way your room is arranged, then the best thing to do is make it “Phineas safe” because he is a very curious and likes to move things around to his liking! Very smart and does listen and learn. He can be an escape artist until you remind him “stay” and he listens. Otherwise, he is off on another adventure! Training MUST be in his future. The positive thing is he is not only smart, he wants to please. We can tell you that Phineas is great on walks, interested but not aggressive with other dogs — but he probably would not make friends with squirrels!! He does his business outside for the most part, but he will need a little more time before you could call him 100% potty trained…but he is getting there. A few walks a day will be great for him on many levels and a yard would be ideal! Do you need a little activity in your life? So does Phineas and he’s ready to come home with you! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria.
