Story
MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a handsome 6-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo is a gorgeous, handsome dog who loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike! He's a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from walks, hikes, and exercise, and people who understand his breed. Please email for an application.

Story
Hi, I am Estrella! I am loving, playful, and very social. I enjoy playing with other dogs, going on walks, and running at the beach. I would love a home with other dogs or children, and a family that enjoys being active and spending time together. I would not do well alone, with older adults only, or with someone inactive. My early life was tough, but I recovered with care and now I am healthy, happy, and full of energy. As a young dog, I am ready for my forever family who will love me and include me in all their adventures. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Story
Hi there, I am Gigi,If you are looking for a confident, compact, and charming girl to join your family then stop looking--you found her!I live with many dogs at my foster's house, and I get along with all of them. Some of the best things in life for me are taking a long walk with my people, playing with my dog friends, and of course eating. I think the best home for me would be with at least one more dog to play with, a yard with some bushes that I could hide in and run around. I like to be active, so if you were hikers or runners or beachcombers, I think I would be in heaven. I love car rides, especially if I can stick my head out the window. Woo-hoo!I haven't lived with children, but I have seen them playing in the park and they don't scare me. I like to chase cats if I get a chance. When we go for a walk, I like to greet other dogs with a friendly sniff. I am a happy girl.If it sounds like I could be the dog you would love, then fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Love you already!GigiThis dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. Story
Meet Ranger Howie, a 6-month old Black Mouth Cur mix with the brains and heart of a future top recruit. This brave little soldier had a rough start, but he’s making huge strides in his training. Howie has already mastered “sit,” loves to play fetch, and after his puppy zoomies fade, he’s a surprisingly chill and easygoing boy. He’s fearless around horses, unfazed by loud noises, and enjoys weekly “training missions” at doggy daycare where he learns from the best and plays with his fellow recruits. Howie is non-aggressive and even respectful toward cats, though he’s still learning they don’t always want to play. He’s working on potty training, crate training, and basic manners — all part of his journey to becoming a well-trained gentleman. Smart, eager to please, and quick to learn, Howie just needs a patient, loving family to guide him to his full potential. He loves car rides and sits calmly in the back seat like a true professional on patrol. With plenty of toys, playtime, and affection, Ranger Howie will grow into the loyal, dependable companion every family dreams of. Could your home be his next command post? To apply directly for Howie, push the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-753 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Rhodesian Ridgeback/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping 2025 is his year! Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs. Please email for an application.
