MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a handsome 6-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo is a gorgeous, handsome dog who loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike! He's a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female.
