Frankie was abandoned at about 10 weeks of age andmy Dad found him and brought him home. He is 19 mos, neutered, & fully grown at 65 lbs. Hes housetrained, kennel trained & will bark if he needs to go outside. He is very sweet; he has a pleaser personality & if left alone for too long, hell find toys or shoes to chew on. He likes fetch, kids, other dogs, ignores chickens, & his best friend is our cat! He & kitty will wrestle; he will actually scruff the cat in his teeth & carry him around! Hes the fastest dog Ive ever seen; we have 5 acres and he runs laps around the property. Hes very smart, can be a little bit willful, and needs a confident owner who can give him LOTS of exercise & attention. He needs a large fenced yard or farm with other pets &/or an active family. Hes a good guard dog; hell bark at anything new approaching our property, & he can get pretty hyper sometimes! No matter what hes doing, if you go to pet his head, he will freeze…he loves being petted. No aggressive issu

Some of the best things in life for me are taking a long walk with my people, playing with my dog friends, and of course eating. I think the best home for me would be with at least one more dog to play with, a yard with some bushes that I could hide in and run around. I like to be active, so if you were hikers or runners or beachcombers, I think I would be in heaven. I love car rides, especially if I can stick my head out the window. Woo hoo!I have not lived with children, but I have seen them playing in the park and they do not scare me. I like to chase cats if I get a chance. MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a gorgeous 6-1/2-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike and go on exciting journeys! Romeo is a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern or with an experienced adopter. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from exercise, and people who understand his breed.
