Siffy is the ultimate companion! She loves cuddles but also walking, running and everything else outside, especially in a role as your protector and friend. This lady is a powerful sprinter and the more room she has to do it, the happier she is. Fortunately, her loyalty and attachment to you will keep her within range. Unfortunately, Siffy's typical day right now is somewhat lonely and under-stimulated, as she is left in the house half a day 2 or 3 days a week with three disinterested cats as company. She becomes sad when her humans are gone, unhappy, or cross with her, but never acts out by growling, nipping, or chewing anything but her toys. Siffy is truly a dog who deserves as much love and attention as she gives!

MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a gorgeous 6-1/2-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike and go on exciting journeys! Romeo is a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern or with an experienced adopter. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from exercise, and people who understand his breed. Animal Information: Rumi is a 1-year-old, 63-pound Cur/Shepherd mix with a heart of gold. After being attacked by another dog at the shelter, he spent the night with our rescue partner while he waited for vet care the next day. Even after everything he went through, Rumi remained sweet and friendly with people and tested excellently with other dogs. With his soulful eyes, soft ears, and gentle nature, Rumi seemed to breathe a sigh of relief during his sleepover. We knew we couldn’t leave him behind, so he got a one-way ticket to Seattle to start a new chapter. We can’t wait to see where his story goes from here. Foster Profile: Rumi has had a rough 1st year of his life but you would never know it from his extremely sweet and loving disposition. Rumi would make a great family dog with kids as well as will another dog in the home, but another dog is not required. He loves to play with other dogs and is coexisting really well with a 3 year old human in his foster home. He is crate trained, leash trained and rides well in the car. He does not seem to have high prey drive so he would likely do well in a home with a kitty friend, he has not been cat tested but can be upon request. He loves being near his people and is just an overall happy friendly dog.
